Do you think we will get an FF7 remake crossover event?

Yoshi originally said no as he didn’t want to detract from their development time while it was in production, which is a fair understandable response. But now it’s (very nearly) out, do you think we could see an event in the future?

If so, what rewards would you like to see? The bike is already the game so would need to be a different mount. Tiny Bronco? Landbuggy? A big dancing moogle?

I hope we do see a crossover in the future, as we had it with XIII and XV once they were released.

With the state of the world right now I imagine they might only have enough manpower or resources to dedicate to their normal workload, and nothing more.

They still have more to go though don't they? The official site for the remake states this is just the first game within the project going to a certain point in the original story (but going into more depth than the original). I imagine until the entire project is completed, they're going to be full steam ahead as long as the staff are available.

you only get your Buster Sword if I get my Sephiroth gear... i would include the hair style and sword but i figure the gear would take a miracle to begin with

Your character immediately made me think of Sephiroth, and why not! The Sephiroth outfit, I mean. Hell, I'd love to face him in FFXIV as a collaboration boss. And while Sephiroth's sword would never be able to be be made into a an actual weapon (Though maybe for Dark Knight, *wink wink*) if we were given a shorter version of it then I'd be down for that.

Also, if this collab ever happened, I'd vote to have not just Sephiroth'a outfit but also, Cloud's solider uniform, both character's hairstyles and fighting stances when paired with either of their FFXIV variant of their weapons, and the outfits and hairstyles from the rest of the FF7 main cast.

I made a thread some months back how it'd be pretty cool if we could get Barret's gatleen gun arm for Machinest and though it was immediately pointed out how it wouldn't be possible to have such a arm in game to replace the Machinest's gun, I still have some hope as it could be treated as slip on glove to go over the hand where the fire arm should be. :'3

Yeah its not going to happen with this current release, but keep in mind the its going to be released in parts so they could have an event for one of the future parts.

So, as you're probably aware, the FFVII Remake is soon to release.

However, as Yoshida has mentioned in an interview there won't be a Crossover event with FFXIV on its release, due to not wanting to overburden the FFVII team whom are already under pressure for releasing the (Very, very hyped) game.

Though, there still remains a possibility where post release some time, there could be a crossover event (I'm sure Papa SE would love to see the 2 decades worth of FFVII hype translate into more sales in FFXIV too and thus fund a crossover)

In the case that a FFVII + FFXIV crossover event DOES happen, what would you wish to see? What would you like to see in the event itself? What rewards would you like?

Personally, I'd love the following:

Event:

• A NM + EX Trial where you and Cloud fight against Sephiroth
  
• You help the team take out a rogue Shinra squad (Whom have built a Mako Reactor for reasons)
  
• Yuffie steals your Materia (Again)

Rewards:

Weapon Glams:
Buster Sword for DRK
Cerberus for MCH (Technically from Dirge of Cerberus spin off than FFVII proper but close enough)
Princess Guard for WHM
Venus Gospel for DRG
A pair of mini 4-point Shuriken (Yuffie's default weapon) for DNC

Outfits:
Tifa's outfit
Vincent's outfit
Yuffie's outfit
Aerith's outfit
Barret's outfit
Sephiroth's outfit
Red XIII's hairpin as a head glamour item
Cid's goggles as a head glamour item

Minions:
Mini Red XIII

Mounts:
The blue pickup truck as a 4 player mount.
The motorbike that Cloud uses.

I think it's quite likely that an event will occur. It's easy money for SE.

The real question would be when it'll occur. When will the FFVIIR team have enough "Free" development time in order to not be burdened by checking over the crossover stuff? Will that coincide with a period of time when the FFXIV team aren't busy?
