Thread: One-piece Swimsuits

Bikinis are nice and all, really... but are there ANY plans at all for some one-piece styles? I know there are some armor pieces that occupy multiple equipment slots, so I can't imagine it would be that hard to implement. It's not even really a modesty issue for me - I just think my Elezen would look much more stylish in a lovely one-piece with a simple design. Maybe a plain color (green, blue, red, dyeable?) with a simple print of a hibiscus on the front, or a chocobo, or anything! Or even a full print with a cute gingham check in different dyeable colors. Just as long as it's simple and clean looking.

But if you want to get fancier, a skirted one-piece would be cute too... Just... anything but more bikinis.

Yeah no kidding. As a female player, the fixation on bikinis in this game is a little bit creepy. There's lots of other beach and swimwear fashions we could explore too!

This issue goes so much further. Hasn't anyone else noticed how hard (impossible?) it is to find a MEDIUM length skirt? I get the distinct feeling that there is a fairly lecherous individual in charge of clothing design. Crafting coatees... Need I say more? And it isn't the one vanity coatee ... If you want to stay well geared at all stages, you are required to don 3-4 of these to get to lvl 50.

And DoW harnesses >.<

Is it to unreasonable to expect for a well populated middle ground? Most of the options seem to jump from fully tame to something more akin to "red light district".

A one piece would be a good start.

(for the record, male gamer/female toon. SE: even some guys don't want to level their characters in some skeevy designer's BDSM fantasy... )

Also, the Velveteen Coatee of Gathering must have some pretty powerful magicks... otherwise I'm not certain how my toon manages to stay in her top when swinging that pickaxe o.O

I can understand that, and a skirted one would actually make a lot of sense. Not a huge fan of skirted one-piece suits myself, but the more the merrier, I suppose.

You must also understand there's a rather large male player-base, and they're just tending to them. Apparently, men have a fixation with virtual girls in bikinis. I think they should really look into vanity a bit more, it'd probably do us all some good, especially Square. If your game is just known for cat girls in bikinis, something's wrong.

When I got my 2month subscription award bikini, I just picked up the one simple-looking halter top for cheap off the market board and dyed it to match, and I just use it as a cute little tankini instead. Kinda creates a little bit of a variation in swimsuit styles. :P

That WOULD work... except the Hempen set varies by race. The Elezen hempen top is pretty gross - form-fitting with a cleavage window. The bottoms are worse (on their own, they're actually pretty nice when paired with a long top). I really wish I could wear the Miqo'te or Midlander Hyur hempen top styles, but for whatever reason they decided to make us all different.

As for the game appealing to men - maybe. I don't like to automatically jump to that conclusion. The male swimsuits are pretty ridiculous (and all my male friends agree). They just want simple swim trunks.

Have never understood why vanity gear is nearly the hardest thing to get in the game :/
