Lagging when I have the Direct X option on

Hello, I have been experiencing pretty bag lag/ lag input in my PC version. I tried to tone down my settings and it did not work. I turned off Direct X 11 and it was back to somewhat normal, but It would crash and close the game when I tab out. ( my computer does say I have Direct X 12 ). I reinstalled my drivers and Nvidia to no avail.

To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this crash happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Where in game does the crash occur? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

I have tried to fix it. I tried not running Direct X 12, but the game will crash after a while. If I have it running, then the game is a bit unplayable

Were any updates or changes made to the PC that coincide with the crash? When Final Fantasy XIV crashes, is the game the only program running? Additionally does the game crash when it run in windowed mode or borderless full screen?

not that I know of. I did move recently and for a while, was running te game tethered to my phone. that was the only oddity I can think of. I do have it running borderless full screen with internet browser running. maybe discord and the steam application. ( I do not have the Steam version btw)

If you have not done so already, could you try doing a cleanboot? Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Unfortunately, the device information in the provided System Report does indicate that the laptop being used does not meet the minimum specifications required to play FINAL FANTASY XIV most notably the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family chipset. We do not support Intel graphics cards for FINAL FANTASY XIV. However, I did notice there is an NVIDIA device that is not listed as the primary graphics card. This suggests that you may be running NVIDIA Optimus which controls whether your system utilizes the base Intel card or the NVIDIA card to conserve battery power. Please try disabling NVIDIA Optimus and see if the error persists. For instructions on how to force the NVIDIA card to be enabled or to disable Optimus, please contact NVIDIA Support.
