That would be awesome. In fact before Shadowbringers came out, I suggested pretty much what they did with Phoenix, but with Alexander instead.
I'm not sure how feasible having a third phase of that rotation would be, but maybe having an alternative for AoE's?

It really depends on what they do with SMN/SCH. They are slowly splitting them up and I wouldn't be surprised if one of them become a job that is classless and the one that does is probably going to get a rework. My bet is on SMN so it nothing like how it was originally and always sees the most changed when it comes to new expansions.

If they combine DWT/Bahamut and leave Phoenix as is maybe they can something in between the two trance phases. Maybe make Alexander be certain ability type effects. Idk but I really don't want a 3 minute rotation.

As for the op, I think Alexander was an alright story but when you mess with time, the story gets redundant. I will say coil>eden>Alexander>omega in terms of story
