    Hate to copy paste myself, but as stated in my original post
    Things I have tried:
    Turning off game mode in windows
    Making sure my nvidia settings are set to use GPU in 3D settings instead of Automatic
    A clean boot by disabling all start up programs (and restarting my computer, only launching FFXIV upon startup)
    Reinstalling DirectX
    Deleting cfg file in my games folder
    Various resolutions on start up

    Same error message every time

    Thank you for the reply Mathak.

    I'd suggest some of the following in order to try and alleviate the issue:

    1) Update your Windows Operating System using Windows Update. Make sure to install any optional updates as these aren't installed automatically.

    2) Disable any overlays (Geforce Experience, Discord overlay, etc.) that may be present while playing the game. Also make sure to close any other programs that are running alongside the game while playing.

    3) You may want to try a reinstall of the game. When you do, make sure to remove the locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Be sure to make a backup of this just in case it doesn't resolve the issue.
