A functional incomplete package is not the same as a complete package. All it takes for a package to be incomplete is a single locked item that cannot be aquired through in-game means.

To be extra fair, you're never given a complete mmo since they are always adding things to it. What you pay for is access to play it. Thats it. Thats all your sub is for, it's not for a completed 60 buck game because those are normally not ongoing projects like mmos. Your 60 bucks at the start is for the disk and atleast for FFXIV that gets you a 30 days without the sub. After that you're expected to pay the 15 bucks to once again enter the front door. That 15 bucks has never been for the cashshop. If you want the things in that shop then just like if you want shadowbringers or any other expac. You got to pay to play. This isn't a one time and you're done. Mmos have never been that. They are always on going so you can't apply the same standard as far as payment to them like you would say Street fighter or Sonic. Those are not ongoing games.

^ It's not a free-to-play game. We are already paying for 'DLC stuff', it's part of subscription fees. Defending extra charges on top of this while we are getting less stuff like dungeons is a pure greed.

You are not paying for DLC stuff. You are paying for exactly what they've given you on the box. You are not entitled to anything more than they want to give you and/or is promised you.

The money spent in DLC shop pays to make more DLC stuff. No DLC shop, no DLC is made.

What makes this Mount Seasonal, and why 'should' it be part of the event?
Because its a Sprag? Does that automatically mean its an Easter Themed mount? So if there was a Sprag Themed Weapon that means its an Easter Weapon?

It's very possible the entire concept was inspired by the event, but if it's the cash shop team that conceptualized and produced it, it's cash shop stuff.

Let's say you get a package of a dollhouse. You opened the package, verified all the parts are there, and then built it. Then the store that sold you the dollhouse offered you accessories that you can buy and add to your dollhouse. Are you going to try to make the distinction between a completed package and a functionally completed package and complain that the store is charging more to make your dollhouse complete because now it's incomplete even though it's functionally complete (and actually complete) before they try to sell you more accessories?

Whenever you download a patch to this game, all of the patched-in files and assets are downloaded, including the Mog Station ones.

So, it would be more accurate to compare it to a dollhouse where I possess the accessories and all that after the initial purchase, but I can't actually remove them from their packaging until I pay extra money.

And for the record, I do pull the functional incomplete vs complete argument with stuff like that. It's the same reason why, when I was a little kid, other kids would buy Pokemon card packs and I would instead work to collect the video games in the series.

I don't want a segmented product if I can help it. Being my personal preference, this isn't open for negotiation.

The point being that spriggan was a mob before the event was even a thing. So just because it is a spriggan doesn't mean it's always going to be an easter theme mount. And even if it was, if the cash shop team made it for the cash shop then that means it was most likely never going to be an ingame mount. So if the store wasn't here, chances are it wasn't going to be made at all. Plus it's called marketing....

It's a mount with a possible seasonal theme. It doesn't make it a seasonal event mount. I think SE is moving away from seasonal event mount in favor of account-wide store mounts.

Maybe I'm wrong. When was the last time they had a seasonal event mount? The Valentione couples mount? When was that and is there anything newer than that? Is there any seasonal event mount that does not end up at the Mog Station as a single character mount?

Wrong, all money goes back to SE. Japanese corporations allocate fixed budgets once a year, the FFXIV crew cannot just take whatever money they want. And no amount of mogshop purchases or sub numbers will change that budget till next yearly revision. SE then can distribute these extra money on paying stock dividends to shareholders, but they don't go back into a game directly.

I mean, you can believe that if you want. I'm not in the "in" in SE's budget, and for all I know their original business model might have changed on how they're moving their money from what we were told looong ago.

At the end of the day a specific team is doing MogStation work. If nothing sells on it, they obviously wouldn't waste more time on it. It's all about investment of time to get a certain amount of returns to pay for future investment (and profits).

I work for a Japanese corporation. We do not allocate a fixed budget "once per year" because, obviously, stuff happens. A second major corporation that I do contractor work for does quarterly budgets because (again) the market changes and so must the business targets.
