Its a Subscription based online game, you have to be online to play, and in order to play you are required to update because the previous version is no longer playable.
Even if you were to somehow trick the game to let you play a Previous version, you still have to have an active subscription tied to your account to play the game as well.

Again, it's the same thing. I'm paying to play their latest update, which in turn makes it so that I'm paying for the update.

That 3rd Sub option wouldn't get rid of a cash shop.

But it would add an alternative. I'm always the type to advocate for more options instead of less. The cash shop has exclusives which currently need to be purchased one-by-one in order to be obtained. There's nothing wrong with desiring an alternative way to buy them.
