Seasonal Event Items are typically 1-shot. You have your chance to get it in game for free if you were there for the event.
Most games once its over, its over, and you missed your chance if you wernt there. I think thats fair enough even if it sucks and you want it. But in this game while sometimes its expensive, you have a chance to get it in a cash shop after a time. Id say thats pretty generous.

Damn you guys sound like batter partners. Its generous that after we pay sub and expansions that they let us buy a mount with giving us a chance to get it in game. really? lol

Whats the point of a Seasonal Event item if you can Just get it in Game at any time? Just because you Pay X amount per-month to Play a game doesn't mean your entitled to anything, except the ability to play the game.

You want an event item but couldn't make the event. Welp, if you want you can buy it. Up to you if you want to pay for it for missing the event.

The fact that it's account wide makes it even better because I hate having to buy a glam or emote multiple times.

Yeah, and it went to the cash shop, because it was probably made by the mogstation team, and not the game's team. So created specifically for the cash shop. Doesn't matter if it has a holiday theme and timing you don't like. Wouldn't be available at all otherwise.

No, I'm not necessarily advocating for cash shop only mounts either. You can check my lodestone I have a total of one mount from there, that I got on sale. I spend my money on fantasia. The playerbase votes with their wallet. They buy the mounts, so the mogstation team meets the demand.

I wasn't debating an item going straight to the cash shop, I made a statement about Seasonal Items being sold later in the cash shop. And you engaged in it XD.
But getting on track, why is it a big deal? Its a Premium Mount that they are putting up for sale in the Premium Store. Its pretty extreme to say that FFXIV is becoming a Wallet Drain game over a Premium Mount.
And btw...You get 2 free Retainers, anything more you pay extra for, and its optional. Just wanted to set that straight, cause you opening post made it sound like we have to pay for retainers .
