Such as keeping the servers running, maintenance, content, paying employee's, etc. You're talking about a Triple "A" MMO that is literally the best MMO out there right now. They give us other free seasonal items throughout the year and now you want to complain because they add something else to the mogstation that you want for free but can't get and you're mad. They havent given us anything for free..we pay for everything. They can have a cashshop in fact they have multiple ones. Including the one on their square enix website. The real question is at what point is it ok to say when enough is enough? I have seen this Mogstation go from minimal to literally throwing it in your face and e-maila that there are items they want you to buy there.
