there are no sub mmos today(that im aware of) that dont have a cash shop its just a product of the times the 15$ a month model just isn't paying the bills anymore when you factor in employee pay, production time and upkeep as well as server maintenance its all expensive as hell the cash shop subsidizes that expense.

I see what you are saying but I have to disagree. Smart people should question why they pay a sub and still cant get all the items in the game.

Smart people understand that SE is a business and will continue to sell items on the Mog Station as long as they are making additional money out of it.

I believe your sub entitles you to access to the game's servers at the level you purchased, and that's all. And even that is subject to restrictions at SE's discretion. Pretty sure that's the basic messages of the Ts and Cs

This is untrue your sub pays for whatever they create for the game full stop. If what you are saying is true that means they could nickle and dime you for quests, gear and whatever else you would need to play the game which is absurd. No it doesn't. All your sub money pays for is to get into the park. It does NOT cover anything extra and yes that means your sub means nothing to the mogstation. Again, the only thing your 15 bucks does is let you enter the park which is the main game. That doesn't mean you get everything for free. That's never been how it works. It just means you can play. Anything outside the game, - mogstation- is NOT covered in your 15 bucks.

First off, actual "Smart" people would realize paying the sub is for a multitude of reasons. Such as keeping the servers running, maintenance, content, paying employee's, etc. You're talking about a Triple "A" MMO that is literally the best MMO out there right now. Also these mounts, outfits, etc., that they have in the mogstation are not "In the game" technically speaking. Or else you would be able to obtain them in-game other than the mogstation. They are "Optional Items' as is stated on the mogstation. Everything is purely cosmetic and "Optional". And i don't care but i'm going to say it - You don't need to buy them, it's optional. They give us other free seasonal items throughout the year and now you want to complain because they add something else to the mogstation that you want for free but can't get and you're mad. Get out of here.

I can only hope the outrage over the level and story skip which results in level 70 Black Mages never passing one Astral Fire or Umbral Ice or casting a single Thunder was much larger than this. The mount has as much bearing on the game as my annoying neighbors who never stop yelling every two minutes.

Jump potions din't cause this. You had this before they were made. Can people not blame jump pots for people being bad? You ALWAYS had no dpsing healers, ice and thunder only black mages, single pulling tanks, no aoeing DPS, and jumping jacking mchs since this game was made. Jump potions didn't create this.. people being LAZY created this.

Clearly not understanding my issue but want to comment anyway. I facepalm back at you.

They havent given us anything for free..we pay for everything. They can have a cashshop in fact they have multiple ones. Including the one on their square enix website. The real question is at what point is it ok to say when enough is enough? I have seen this Mogstation go from minimal to literally throwing it in your face and e-maila that there are items they want you to buy there.

So now seasonal mounts added to the cash-shop with no chance of getting it in game. This is turning into a wallet drain game. We already pay 15+ for sub, pay for additional retainers and expansions. Now we have to buy seasonal event mounts that is more expensive than the sub? WOW SE you are going too far. If you are going to say "You dont have to buy it" Dont bother...the point is after paying all this money to play the game now they are starting to gate seasonal items in the cashshop....Just wow.

It's not a seasonal event item unless you can only obtain it during the seasonal event. In fact, if it were a seasonal event item, it might be character-restricted, which means any character you make in the future might not have it unless you make another purchase. That account-wide feature is the reason it's so expensive.
