Mogstation taking another step to the darkside

I know we have the association between spriggans and Hatchingtide, but beyond that it doesn't really look like a themed mount at all. It's carrying a gem and a basket of cushions. Either they designed it for the event then dialled it back to make it generic, or it was never intended for the event but made as a generic mascot mount.

They were clearly waiting for Hatching Tide to release this mount. Whether it was intended to be obtainable in game at all is something only SE knows, but even I know that they were clearly trying to take advantage of the time of year to put this mount on the shop regardless of what their original intentions may or may not have been. Very few things in life happen by coincidence, especially where a business is concerned. I don't really care one way or the other, but that is just my observation.

if you are paying a sub what are you entitled to if not the content that you are paying for? Is it really entitlement to say "I would like the money that I pay to go towards content as a player?" What if they stop making unique armor and weapons in the game..then are we entitled. Where is the line?

Are you saying all of this is going to Happen all because of a premium mount being sold in the cash shop?...My Goodness....
So I guess we aren't getting new content because they put a Motorbike and a Flying Whale straight into the Cash Shop with no way of getting it in game for free...
Look, We are still getting PLENTY of new content, that will never stop. They are still making tons of new armors and weapons, that will never stop. You need to relax and put the Brakes on with the Doom Speak.
You aren't missing out on new content because there is a Mount being sold on Mogstation.

The “what if” scenarios put forth are nonsensical. For as long as the Mogstation shop has been around it has only been cosmetics stuff with exception to the jump potions/story skip stuff. While it might seem shadey to release the spriggan mount when they did, it’s honestly good business to put out a product when you know it will sell.

There is no crossing lines or doom and gloom about no longer releasing armor, etc. they released a mount, which is a pretty regular thing to do.

Just saw the mount in Mogstation and can understand what OP is pointing out. There's an egg hanging from its side and is carrying a basket. I don't know about the rest of you but sure looks like SE is trying to test us to see if a good number of us will buy that obvious seasonal looking mount or not instead of just doing the event and unlocking it.

And yes, I know the mount isn't part of the event, but it's still very suspicious how it looks like it should be a part of the current seasonal event.

That is still speculation, while what Iscah stated about the Spriggy not being a themed mount is also based on observation, and isn't false. Big difference there. Where her and I have speculated was that the mount was initially intended to be an event mount (possibly had eggs and such instead of the gem and cushions), and then later modified to go into the cash shop. If this is the case, then I would be inclined to agree with you, but there is no way for us to know for sure that is within ToS guidelines.

Not saying I don't see things your way. If cookies go missing when there is only one kid in the house; it's pretty obvious where they went. But that little booger can still plead to fifth. Much is the same in this case.

It doesn't carry an egg, though. It's a gem. A stone. So no, it's not a seasonal mount. Maaaaaaaybe it was intended to be one, but we could never know that for sure.

As for the timing - Hatching event associates with Spriggans among players and in its story, so right now is just the best time to implement it from "when we can get the best sales from it" standpoint.

As the others said already, it's a gemstone, and I'm fairly sure all normal spriggans have some kind or rock or gem either on a belt in the same position, or carry it there.

The timing is fishy... Spriggans have been part of the Hatching Tide before so this mount could have been an event item. However, we are getting a male Viera bunny glamour so it's not like the event was stripped bare of rewards.

Yeah, that's the extra-odd thing about it. If we had dud in-game rewards (e.g. recycled models) it would be more suspicious that a could-be-event mount seems to have been switched out to the cash shop, but instead the mount is essentially a recycled model while we get something totally unique as an event reward. Horrendous, but unique.
