It's pretty common, actually! Girls who are into guys playing as guys, guys into girls playing as girls, girls into girls playing as girls, guys into guys playing as guys, NB folks playing whatever suits one's palatability. If you are going to enjoy the narrative, combat systems, crafting, whatever, may as well titillate more of the senses! A lot of folks into any gender going with whatever race/gender configuration is most sexy to them.

Even people playing a character that correlates with their gender, a lot of them like sexy outfits, maybe as an exploration or maybe just because they find it part of the power fantasy. Not my thing but I think that's a totally awesome way to enrich your experience in a way that makes sense for you. ^-^
