there are a handful of ledges that i jump down for shortcuts that has mobs next to them, and every time i aggro one and fall to my death

Once I've been playing a job to the point of automaticity, I end up forgetting skill potencies and sometimes even names.

Back in 2.0 I was an aspiring SCH trying to make my mark in the world. I ran all content with Cleric stance on because of the damage boost, completely missed that it lowered healing output. I'm sorry to everyone that dealt with me back then.
This normal. You just know the rotation and haven't "researched" the job(don't misunderstand that), where such things would be stored in long term memory.
I'm always getting lost in this game. When I open the map to check, most of the time I should have gone the opposite direction.
When I just started playing, thought this game has some kind of transportation where you can freely move and look at passing landscapes, especially when I seen rails in Thanalan, then after seeing that airships just instantly teleporting you with a little cutscenes I ended up really disappointed.
Also when leveling up, I really thought that after completing story once, you can create an alt and level up freely, without MSQ.
Ah, and I really loved raise on my Paladin, thinking it will be very useful in raids.
When I was new to the game in 2013, about a month or two into playing I was at endgame getting into shout parties on my DRG to do Binding Coil. The cleave range on the snake boss in there as well as the speed of the telegraph was like lightning to me, since I was on PS3. I told the party I was new, and they said you'll die a lot probably. I confidently stated I wouldn't, and proceeded to go double weak on the snake and still die 4 more times after that.
I play with animations on, and sometimes it really does make the fights harder, because certain explosions do obfuscate the camera completely. A specific boom chain in God Kefka is what I'm thinking about. My old raid leader assumed that I can't play without call outs because of it, despite the fact that I've done callouts for him during his nosebleeds before. Despite the fact it has killed me before, I play with effects on, but my friends will chide me about it any time that I die hehe. I just... I like the fights being boomy and blammy.
The first time I used the melee LB3 I died. It was ADS in Turn 2 of Binding Coil. The LB did damage the boss... but I got smoked.
I actually would like to parse hound for a cycle. I play on PS4 however, and I'll never be willing to demand uploads or logs of someone else haha.
I killed myself with Elusive Jump in Titan HM more than once.
Again when I first started I came from FFXI. In FFXI a BRD rotation was swapping BRDs out between parties so they could distribute Soul Voice enhanced song buffs to the entire alliance. Coming to FFXIV and my ex talking about how hard BRD rotation was in FFXIV, I acted like I knew what she was talking about 100% When I found out it wasn't even remotely the same thing I died a little inside, cause she just knodded along with me when I talked to her about it as if I knew what was going on.
I got my first Titan HM clear as a pity carry from a social LS of people who were all Legacy and already had relics. They said all I had to do was last until the heart broke, and I did. It still felt bad though.
I've often partaken in the seedy underbelly of Balmung. It's amusing, albeit time consuming. I just like to write lewd stuff I guess. hehe
I squee whenever I get Hullbreaker Hard Mode because of the Sanguine Siren section.
Recent confession: I have been dropping groups right at the start lately for leveling roulette, because I can't get anything other than Qitara Ravel or Malikah's 9/10 times.
It's not that I don't like them, but I just keep getting them over and over and over....
There's still a lot of boss mechanics I don't really understand in places I've run several times. I just kind of do what everyone else is doing, but have no idea why or what will happen if I don't.
I also have no sense of direction. If at the end of a fight my character isn't already facing the right direction it takes me way too long to make sense of a map that really only gives me 2 possible ways forward.
