This isn't really embarassing for me but it's probably the most surprising for you so here goes.

When I was originally leveling up I obviously had the default keys set on most things, meaning as I learned new skills they soon became troublesome to hit if I wished to retain the ability to move at the same time. Most people, as I've later realized, handle this by changing their keybinds to keys that are always within reach. I couldn't say at what point I fully switched to doing it but my solution was to just to let go of my mouse and get a second hand on the keyboard.

This is how I still play to this very day. Inside instances I only touch my mouse if a boss jumps and I need to look around to see where they are charging from, as during those moments I'm not losing anything from removing my right hand from the keyboard either. One current exception is E7S that forces me to use my mouse for facing my teleport the correct way but since it's during a simple 1-2-3 portion of my rotation it doesn't cost me anything.

I don't actually know how to move it around either as I think the HUD layout doesn't have that option so it's permanenty hidden behind where I've decided to set aggrolist. You can however either go to your skills > general and drag the Duty action to your hotbars or you can go into your keybinds > hotbars and just bind a dedicated key for using duty actions there.

If I read this right, you guys are looking for the 'duty' option in the HUD layout. You have to switch to it from the 'basic' button.

Yeah I found it eventually, but thanks haha. I always forget that's how you have to do it... I kind of wish instead of "basic" the default option was "all," cause for the longest time I didn't even know a lot of the options there even exist.

I also didn't have any idea you could split the target bar into three pieces so you can move the enemy cast bar and dots afflicted separately until recently. So that's a thing too lmao

I haven't progressed my NG+ past the point where you first enter Rak'Tika so that I can go visit Emet Selch whenever I please. :3

Can't embed this, but how else can I have qualify time with him?

I have finally caved and joined my friends in the trend of compiling slootglams for some of my classes (only for my RDM and SAM tbh). NO REGRETS.

If you're out there, strange party member in Mt. Gulg that told me how to play my class right, I'm sorry for not listening right away, Freeze is great.
Freeze wasn't good until this expansion. They reworked it and unless you really went back and re read every tooltip you can easily be forgiven for that.

I also can't remember proper skill names. Even for my main. So talks about what things do are an adventure--I called Manashift 'MP Gift' in my head since its creation lol.

Here's a poem (first attempt at a Haiku so will probably mess it up) about my experiences in Refulgence (way too many times than I would like to admit ):

Translating some aspects of Japanese makes less sense than saying it in Japanese.

You start with Iaijutsu, which is the art of quickly drawing a sword (Fast Draw), then slowly start getting into your attack combos looking like:

Breeze rustling through leaves (Wing Edge) - The sound of bodies storming a tactically held point (Blade Wind) - Moonbeam
(Wing edge) - Behavior of a Samurai (Servitude) - Burning Chariot
    (Wing edge) - Quiet Snowfall

Then your AE's are simple and easy to translate. Same with your range attack (Swallow, or Swallow Tail)

Aaaaaaaand then it goes off the rails.

    The universe must be destroyed
The morning sun must be destroyed
The evening moon must be destroyed
    Hope must be destroyed
    The heavens must be destroyed
When one is calm, ones mind is calm (Clear Mind)

And then you get to the actual meaning of the iaijustu skills.

If theres one thing I learned from playing the L5R card game for 20 years, sometimes saying 4 syllables is better than the alternative.

For a look at how Squeenix handles its translations for stuff like that, check out some skill names in its mobile game titles.

Its mostly 1-2 word names and then you get "you must choose to eat with your imagination", "a codex of a named swordsmaster" (which have been updated since implementation to some success) and my favorite, half of Emperor Palamecias skillset (which they thankfully changed years later) which included "hahaha you insolent fools".
