Watching youtube videos is pointless for arcanists?

been watching a couple videos on arcanist and was wondering when they became pointless to watch pets dont aggro damage and the sklills have changed to different levels, even cut scenes make no sense as some assume you have certain skills already.

Honestly that's one of my biggest issues with video guides in general, people rarely go back to correct old information. TBH anything made before Shadowbringers came out will be basically useless for a lot of jobs.

Its user created content so it depends entirely on them to update the info accordingly. Most jobs at this point are not even close to what they were. I assume that's why they made the job guide available (as uninformative as it can be in some aspects, imo)

ive played games before where the pets were the targets and you healed them from a distance, and did dots etc first time ive played a game where that wasnt the case just different i guess.

Which is understandable but the pets at this point don't work like the videos and jobs are "designed" at this point for their end game sum of abilities. I agree with your pov, don't get me wrong. But its a habit at this point for some jobs to change every expansion to varying extents.

When you're looking for MMO stuff, especially XIV, It's really important to restrict your search results to the past year.



Anything older than that should be considered obsolete. When the next expansion comes out, there'll be a period of a 3-6 months where you should restrict it even further to "Past month". Expansions bring heavy, sweeping changes to jobs and systems.
