Question Locked at 48fps on windowed

    Hi,

    I'm using a 120hz display which have 2 working rate modes: 48 and 120hz.

While there is no problem to play 120fps in fullscreen, when I switch to borderless or windowed, the game locks to 48fps.

Is there any workaround to force the game works at 120hz, or the possibility to add an option to independently set the refresh rate in settings?

This is a laptop based on i7-9750H UHD Graphics 630 and GTX 1660 Ti.
According to dxdiag the video output pass by the Intel UHD.

    Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (120Hz)
    Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (120.035Hz)
    Output Type: Internal

    Thanks

Edit: After checked Intel control panel was correctly set to 120hz.
I found that there is like a bug when you change the FPS setting in game, only when you are running windowed.

As you can see my screens: https://imgur.com/a/1hGJglt
The fps is not reflecting the actual option set in the menu under uncapped or 120fps. (The variation is not due to engine charge, I was in isolated place)

I had similar issue then I relized that by mistake I enabled 1/2 or 1/4 refresh rate in settings during the whole procces - check if the refresh rate isn't limited ingame, because it literally halves or quaters your FPS, respectively. EDIT: I just looked at the imgur link - try to keep it at 1/1 at all times. If that doesn't help, reduce shadows and grass - those eat the most

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

This only happens when using one of the windowed modes, correct? The frame limiter works as intended with Fullscreen mode? Does this only happen with the in-game limiter? Have you tried an alternative one?

Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
