    Reactivation Log In Error

    Recently a friend and I both reactivated our accounts. We stopped playing mid 2011, before the World Merge. When we both reactivated, our characters were listed as Cancelled, now both say continuous. Same time and day.
    Only problem is, the instant i reactivated my character was immediately updated with the world merger and such, while his still says he is in the previous server.
    I understand that accounts who were active at the time of the merger had priority but we literally had cancelled and reactivated at the same time so why was my account instantly playable and his is not?

    This is the only relevant information I could see, though I don't see why both aren't working.

    "A Notice to Players Resuming Their Recurring Service Option (Mar. 28)
    The World merge was performed on March 27, 2012. In this merger, all characters will be transferred from their old Worlds to the new ones. However, because this would dramatically increase the volume of characters, we only transferred characters within a service account that had the “Subscribed” status as of both March 26 and March 27, 2012.

    The transfer was not performed on characters that did not have the “Subscribed” status on either March 26 or March 27, 2012, or on both days. Transfer of these characters will be performed gradually at a later time. Once the transfer is complete, players will be able to play on their characters in the new World if they have completed the steps to resume their automatic recurring service options.

    Priority for the character transfer will be given to players who resume their automatic recurring service option before the transfer process is completed. However, please note that it will take several days after a player resumes their automatic recurring service option for the completed transfer to take effect.

    * Transfer of all characters is scheduled to be completed between mid to late April.

    We deeply apologize for the belated announcement and for any inconvenience this may cause."

    Yeah I have a thread on this elsewhere and in this particular section there's a thread about it as well. I'm amazed that you were able to instantly connect after reactivating, maybe you were lucky and they overlooked your inactive status during the merge, I have no idea. As for your friend though, he's in the same boat as my girlfriend, it's day 4 and she still can't connect, and the Reps. won't shed any light on anything about it. The best we can hope for is that they finish the data transfers soon, and also keep in mind that the month your friend payed for is ticking away as we speak, so the more time he's locked out of the servers, the more money he's wasting thanks to SE's screw ups. Hopefully there will be compensation in order.

    The only reason I think they aren't announcing whether or not there will be compensation (i.e. a month free for users who couldn't log on for the duration of this nonsense) is because if they announced something like that now before the problem was resolved, then there would be an influx of people who haven't been merged; reactivating their accounts in an attempt to exploit whatever it is they are giving to compensate for the time lost. That's merely an assumption though, it could also be that they just have no idea wtf they are doing (more then likely the case).

    In any event, tell your friend to wait a bit longer, if "several days" doesn't include weekends and only business days, then there's a chance they'll get to his account tomorrow morning, since the weekend is over now.

    Thanks for the info guys.
    Yeah Pofo, amazingly my friend actually contacted a Rep on the phone and the guy still didnt give any specific info other than what EdenArchangel posted. The rep i was just lucky, like you said. Including friday when we activated and now mon and tues, its been 3 days. You say its been 4days for your girl friend? ouch. My friend even asked for any compensation and the Rep did not give a direct answer or actually any answer. I guess all we can do is just wait.

    Going on 6 now, Reps won't comment, SE won't provide any follow ups with the issue. I have a feeling the reason why they aren't answering is because something went terribly wrong, and they don't have a method to restore the accounts at this time, and they don't want to say that to the player base. That's speculation at the very least, but considering I'm sure only a handful of accounts reactivated after the merge, I don't see it taking THIS long considering it took them only (and I use the word only, very loosely) 15 hours to transfer all the paid accounts. If she's not reactivated by the 7th, which is when my account expires I'm not even going to bother with this game til 2.0. I'll stick to XI, since in the 8 years of playing that, the dev. team has never screwed it's player base quite as bad as this.
