I don't understand why they say Hrothgar can't wear helms. All they need to do is reshape the front of the helmet to allow room for their muzzle. ESO and Warcraft can do it.
It's looks terrible on worgen and tauren; instead of the neck hole on the base it's on the back. No idea of how ESO do it.
With viera they have to make veira versions like the did with miqo'te and it's a lot of armor to change. It also would look really stupid with large ears.
They should give them more hair though.
ESO made the majority of the helms either "buckets" that deform to fit over Khajit and Argonian muzzles or open faced. Most of the post 50 FFXIV helms are head swaps with ear additions which work fine for most races since they only have 1 head model. Hrothgar have 4 different head models (one of which has a horn)
It is the 4 different ear variations that make the Viera tricky. All 4 are shapped differently so it is not making 1 ear addon as with the miqo'te/elezen/lala versions, but would require making 4 different versions. Hats are also problematic because each ear set clips differently. With viera they have to make veira versions like the did with miqo'te and it's a lot of armor to change. That's like how all their set pieces work. It just deforms to the body. Like a body suit. That combined with a lot of the character idle stance makes everything look off. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of cool looking sets, and a large amount of variety, but nothing looks right. Especially bad on females. They HAVE to have godawful thigh pauldrons (usually floating) on like EVERY SINGLE piece of motif gear too. It really grinds my gears.ESO made the majority of the helms either "buckets" that deform to fit over Khajit and Argonian muzzles or open faced. It's the caps and hats that I'm raising an eyebrow for mostly. Those sit on the head, and could easily be moved back a little to allow the ears through for Hrothgar. No excuse for those not being usable yet.
Viera...I'm sorry to say that with those large ears, they may as well let them clip through stuff, it's going to be less work then having to reshape ear holes on everything for them.

They did say Viera and Hrothgar are gonna be the last race, so dont get any hopes up. At most they will add male and female Viera/Hrothgar to complete them. But beside that, they have plenty to finish. Current Viera and Hrothgar still lack many things, unfinished parts. The UI of the character creator deserves better, more options are also welcome. Another "new", playable race is 100% not gonna happen.

No other races will be added, only limited ones.

I've tossed this around a bit but I actually do wonder if people would be ok with them adding in a non limited race or giving us the counter parts to these races but designing them as to not be limited because they see how well that went over this time.
Not that I think they would do either, they have said in so many words that there's no point in adding something that's not extremely unique at this point in time so I expect the counter parts to be just as limited but I really could see them forgoing that in favor of adding a small cute beast race.
