Could we have a Z axis for all furniture?

The devs when asked recently about glitching in housing replied that they don't really mind if it is for the purposes of decoration and not affecting other players.

Given the extreme popularity of floating objects

Would it be possible in the future for this to be an official upgrade to the housing system in the form of the Z axis?
Could we also have more wall mounted furniture be orientated or flipped?

The easiest way they could give us some measure of Z-Axis control, without having to write new code or worrying about breaking what already works, is to simply let us put anything that can go on the floor, on to lofts.

We can move things around from there, disconnect them, and leave them floating in place.

It's not as good as having actual in game controls for object placement but it would generally allow us to put things where we want without relying on glitch-shifting things up into the air and all the attendant frustration that can cause when things accidentally get moved, etc. It would also help if there was a "lock in place" option so once you have something where you want it, it won't move or accidentally attach itself to something else that you've moved near it temporarily.

It would really be nice if they could handle it like city of heroes does. Their base builder uses shift and ctrl modifiers to let you move things and turn things.

Yes please! I feel like my decorating always falls flat now because I cannot do the glitch to raise furniture to a different level. I don't want this taken away form those who do but for the sake of making everyone happy and even making it a feature rather than a bug would be just the bee's knees.

I hear ya. I love decorating, but that glitch gives me fits so I don't do it. I would love to have an option that doesn't involve hours of hair pulling frustration for me.

Yes please... I'm tired of trying to make a nice compact build in my apartment or FC room and having to give up on half I want to do because it requires the levitation glitch to actually work, and a basement to actually float it to a small height... :<

Yes, PLEASE! Something similar to that used in Second Life would be excellent - I remember that being so easy to use.

Having to glitch things up into the air to make my small actually have more than 2 cramped rooms was a nightmare, took 4 hours on my ps4!

    Seriously we need a Z axis ><

It took me days to get my small just right with keyboard & mouse, I can't even imagine trying to do it on a controller.

But as I mentioned earlier in the thread, all SE has to do to give us Z axis control without doing any real work is to simply flag the lofts to take anything that can go on the floor. Then it's a simple matter to float almost anything without having to glitch at all.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

Yeah... I don't like having to do the loft glitch to float chairs and stuff. It's really bad for my RSI, so I avoid it when I can help it. Wish it was built into the game in an accessible manner.
