    Small Scholar change propsal

I have a tiny Quality of Life change that I'd like to see for Scholar:

Instead of having Aetherflow only usable in combat, have its cooldown start only if you're in combat. (And keep going once you exit combat).

This way you get to prepare your aetherflows before combat instead of scrambling to do it as soon as an encounter starts, but you still keep the dynamic where you can't stock up on aetherflow outside of combat and wait for its cooldown so you effectively start with 6 aetherflows.

    That is all.

That's exactly why, though. I literally can't access my main abilities until I've spent a few seconds to target and attack an enemy, which means in order to be ready for big heals I have to scramble to set up my skills at the beginning of the encounter. It's not like I'm saying this is wiping the team, I'm just saying it's an unnecessary and cumbersome step to have to open every single boss encounter with. There's no reason for it to work that way, when it could easily be much more user friendly if it worked the way I explained.

If you're scrambling you are doing it wrong. You can pre-buff with a critlo spread, DoT >atherflow and go into bio3 spam. If it takes you several seconds (???) you maybe need to look into how you are targeting enemies. If its in a raid just have the boss targeted before hand. Even if you don't have them targeted doing literally anything to the boss or a teammate will put you in combat and make it so you can hit atherflow.

Did it need to be combat only? Probably not, but its really not a HUGE deal

Alternatively have it so that it works in reverse - you build up 'junk' aetherflow with the skills and dump the stacks once per minute (probably with an area of corrupt magicks like Shadowflare)

Usually it's not necessary to cast a heal in the first 3 seconds of an encounter. Especially as SCH where you can pre-cast Succor/Adloquium or even spread it. After you shielded your party before the pull, just target the enemy to cast your dps spell as soon as possible so you can activate Aetherflow. No target switching necessary until the first tank buster.

If your playing with a controller, you can assign a button to "assist target" to quickly switch between the enemy and your MT. I have it on one of the thumbsticks, it makes it much easier to quickly target the tank for heals.

Shield before pull and target boss before pull. No one should ever really need a big heal before you’ve been able to flow stacks.
Would it make it lil more conventient? Probably, but I honestly think it’s a way to balance the healers. WHM and AST don’t get to “stack their resources” out of combat either. They’re also all viable without it.
