    DREAM MMO

Following up to my thread on the future of FF14 and next-gen around the corner.
How would be a dream new Final Fantasy MMO would be for you guys?

Although it is sure to be a long way off ,
    Mine would be :

    - seamless open world

-final fantasy 7 remake level of graphics ( if its not too much to ask lol ) (tho maybe many wont be able to run it , me included on my potato rig lol )

-just like ff14 , i can just level all jobs on one character

    - some special race attribute , like for example: miqo’te can jump higher or climb trees ..etc

-Improved tab target system if they keep that combat system. But also have more meaningful auto attack and have dodging system. Maybe a mixture of action and tab targeting , with faster Cooldowns

    - make the mobs placement kinda better , a bit like BDO mob placements.

    - side jobs are pretty good already in 14 so just improve upon that

-seamless land , sea and air traversal as well as combat

    - fully voice acted for sure.

    - i’d say make the questing and interaction better too

    - glamour system might need some rework too

    - dye system as well.

-some of the RNG are a bit painful so maybe make that better.

-keep Gold Saucer for sure, expand upon it .and more side games and activities

    - housing system needs to change for sure.

    - like in Wow have this mini game like pokemon to make minions fight or where we can capture some mobs and make em battle

In all honesty i am still fairly new to ff14 but hey while i am enjoying the crap out of this game i cant help be think of the future while i play.

This is my first FF, I'm not quite new, having played for several months now, but I've taken my time and have far to go. Still, I enjoy it immensely.

When I think about where it might go in the future, what I want is a game that I can fully immerse myself in; I want virtual reality.

Questing might not feel as tedious then. Dungeons might feel more rewarding. I think I'd even try pvp then... Who knows, but it's what I envision when I think of future FF games, at least what I want anyhow.

Probably several games out before something like this is even contemplated, but.....

    My dream MMO?

    Hum...

    Similar to FFXIV with :
    - No medieval (steampunk/magicpunk is fine)
    - Wildstar-like housing
    - Gameplay BDO-like (BUT with full free keybinding. I really like FFXIV for that.).
    - Graphics similar to BDO level or even better (without the weird wet/glossy effect)
    - Better clipping and physics (FFXIV clothes are really... rigid).
    - Some kind of backgrounds for the races, the places they come from.

Maybe a less solo-hero story, to allow a better explanation about how and why we play as team.

I would keep mostly everything else from FFXIV a similar way.

What could get benefits from an upgrade, light overhaul :
    - Deepdungeon-like more solo friendly.
    - Three opacity level for makeup
    - More sliders in character creator
    - hybrids and blood-mixed options
    - personalized glowing colors for weapons
    - No race restrictions
    - Trust and Squadron
    - Craft and gathering
    - Retainers and quick ventures are interesting but... expensive and they come back with too many fishes
    - The possibility to buy all old events items during corresponding event

    More alt friendly :
-> account wide items at mogstations
-> shared chest (as it is in Aion)

    I absolulty would keep :
    - full keybinding
    - all jobs on one character
    - no race or gender locked jobs
    - the races (I have a weakness for Ao RA, Miqo'te, Viera and Hyur but don't mind others)
    - glowing weapons!
    - Hildibrand

    A dream?
-A wider world that doesn't look like a really tiny planet (thought it will be kind of problem for travelling at low level)

I was going to forgot : a bait box for fishing! XD

Lets see 1st No machines, maybe 1-2 bosses tops in the entire mmo that are machines
2nd Make it more along the lines of final fantasy 10's where machines=bad and all that loveliness where you had little islands for the towns. Now I'd love to return to the era of mood where you had 0 guns the highest range weapon you had was a crossbow. Return to medieval only area.
3d add in the license board system from Ffxii- removing jobs entirely from the mod and make it more like building your own job you just pick your race and everything else you grind LP= what your character knows. (add a limit to how
4th: No dungeons people have to que for if you want to run x dungeon for a quest walk into the dungeon to kill whoever the quest tells you to.
5th open world purely no queing for anything
6th: return to elements matter none of this brainless, stupid game play where you can't screw up and accidently heal with the wrong element.

    ----- SUmmons for REAL----
Literally add in the summons to the system of license board where you have to go kick the summons ass for it show up on your board and if you want to be a summoner with black magic you spend extra lip on the summon.. The thing would be summoned using a system of a single player's energy/break/rage/limit bar that shows up beside the HP/map that fills up as you fight then you can unleash you summon for x amount of time.
Now keep the races of ffxiv --however, add female runs and male bunnies...
Next, remove all classes, it should be a job only from level 1 up
Last part Make it so grinding matters adding in Weapon levels and spell levels into the game so Sword=20 Fire=50 and when it reachs 50 on spells it becomes the next stage so 50 fire = Fira unlocked then you learn it.

--extra-- Remove all weapon=jobs limits a white mage should be allowed to wear some hammers or swords a black mage should get to choice between staffs/rods

Oh and housing would be more like you can take over certain spots in the world (instance of course or islands out of no where) to build your house then people can vist it based on a option to allow random entry . So lets say i want a house under the sea I just go there with the mats and build away

To make it short--- Final fantasy xii= meets path of exiles meets conan exiles mmo :P

I'm fairly sure we had a thread like this not too long ago...

Anyway, as far as what would be my "Dream MMO"... Probably something like:

    - Open World, with organic zones (I.e. Monsters move around doing monster things (Such as hunting for food, sleeping at night unless nocturnal etc), townspeople doing townspeople things). Throw in things like Rifts err... Rifts and GW2 events that can alter a zone too.

    - No mounts, just seamless traversal similar to in Monster Hunter: World. So you slide down slopes, vault over small obstacles, swing on vines to cross gaps. Sprinting is a core function, rather than a CD.

    - Modularized jobs. Something similar to FFIII where you can pick a trait from a job and use it on another one. Only expanded on. Allowing you to sacrifice a particular aspect of the job you're on, to slot in an aspect of another job you've leveled up.

For example, if I wanted to do 8 billion punches per minute, I can play a MNK and trade my Chakra system, for NIN's Ninjutsu and so get access to Huton and Greased Lightning.

Or if I wanted to play DRG as a Tank, I could give up the high damage combos and pick up DRK's defensive CD's and TBN.

    - Combat system that is a fusion of MH:W and FFXIII with a dash of FFXIV. So basic combat takes the form of in Monster Hunter, where weapons and attacks feel weighty and basic filler skills come in the form of several base combos for the particular weapon type.

Add on top of that skills to use like in FFXIV (With the same controller support for them) which would also be designed to have some weight to them. With of course, new ways to aim and utilize them given the shift from tab target combat.

Finally, top it off with the Paradigm system from XIII, where each player can pick 2 of 6 Paradigm's to swap between during combat. Each allowing for different effects and skills to be available, with customizability of each paradigm via a "Talent" so people can tailor them to their intended role.

For example, the Sentinel paradigm might primarily be a Tanking based one with lots of self defense and enmity related talents, but it also has some party mitigation focus too, which a Healer or a Support player might opt for.

Or the Saboteur paradigm might primarily be a Support based one with focus on debuffing enemies defenses, but maybe a Tank or Healer might opt for it to debuff enemies offensive capabilities? Maybe a pure DPS might opt for it because it has some strong attacks to supplement their Ravager paradigm?

    - Stats are actually meaningful. Not only are all base stats useful in some way to all jobs (Possibly through trickle down, i.e. Dex might provide some SkS/SpS. Str might provide some Det. Int might provide some Crit etc) but they're more customizable. Such as gear being mostly empty with only like 2-3 stats (Including Vitality) and the rest of its stats are obtained through adding Materia (With Materia scaling with item level of the item as opposed to being flat bonuses)

    - Bring back funky spell names. I miss classics like Fira and Firaga. Especially when simply going from Stone I to Stone VI has such little actual relevance when all that changes is a slight bit of potency. (In some ways, it's nice that BLM has Fire I, Fire II, Fire III and Fire IV all with different mechanics. Though, why it couldn't be Fire, Fira, Firaga and Flare/Comet I haven't a clue...)

Outside of that, I think it's mostly just update and refine various systems seen in XIV.

    Such as:

    - All jobs on one character.

    - Interesting MSQ. (Please, please, please no required group duties for MSQ. So that we can have non-duty content actually be worthwhile. For MSQ requirements, please use solo duties so everyone can easily complete the MSQ, while allowing for more cutscenes and more lore accurate encounters (I.e. If we're the badass "Chosen One" who single handedly defeats "Big Bad Enemy", then let us single handedly defeat them, not have to queue into a Trial with 7 other people to do it))

    - Utilizing our job in quests. So our character responds to situations differently depending on what job we're using at the time is. (Also, opening up replayability in NG+)

    - Hildibrand.

    - Gold Saucer.

    - Voice acting for PC's (With selectable personalities. So we can be super sassy, or more serious or a bit silly such as we see with some chat options now)

    - Open world content scales with number of players participating, NOT how many people are in the zone. It's super dumb to have penalties based on other people existing in an MMO even if they're not actually helping with the content you're doing.

Not to be pedantic, but I’m fairly certain that’s V not III.

Considering FF has alsways been the kind of game that always seems to be ahead of their time..it’s possible depending on how much VR evolve in the next few years ..they might be the one jumping into it and with the right team , actually pulling it off.

I would add...better gear designs for low level...because ff14 have some scary weird disturbing ass gear designs for low level lol
Like low level are usually very neglected in mmo’s ...but i think if they focus on making low level more fun and enjoyable ..it would be easier for new player to stick to the game.

My dream MMO would in some ways be a bit old school. The basic world and game mechanics would remain as is but....

    - I like leveling so all jobs would begin at level one.
    - All races would include both genders.
    - No race or gender locked clothing, hairstyles, etc.
    - Jobs would be more diverse with abilities that set them apart from one another. Crowd control would be a necessity.
    - More jobs with pets, including beastmaster.
    - Instanced housing with various "plots" from around the world. Fortemps Manor or The Rising Stones, for example.
    - Each of the four main armor slots would have two more dye options, making it possible to have three colors per item.
    - Various companions could be summoned to fight with you in the open world, including but not limited to squad members.
    - Blue would stay but as a full job and limited jobs would not be a thing.
    - Trust and/or squad members would fill in the missing roles for undersized parties, making it possible to complete dungeons and trials at level cap solo or with any size group.
    - Curly hair would exist, as well as brighter color palette options for hair.
    - Players would would be able to join up to four FC and the companies would get improved tools for communication and specialization based on their focus. For instance an rp focused FC would not have exactly the same tools as one devoted to endgame or hunt.

That's all that comes to mind at the moment.
