    I think the 2nd ring slot is not really needed from a gameplay perspective

    For one it is only useful if it was for glamour purposes if you like your different rings.

    But from a gameplay perspective there is no real purpose to have two ring slots unless those rings had unique abilities (which very few of those actually exist like the EXP Buff). Now if this game was more like the classic Final Fantasy Games where accessories had unique abilities then I could definitely see the need for 2 ring slots.

    However

    There isn't a reason for it because most rings in this game just have their stats, you're better off with one ring slot with the newly absorbed stats, and re-adjustment to Materia slots for all rings.

    If anything if people still want that 2nd ring slot then I would just regulate it for glamour use only where you can simply copy the ring you have on or a different ring in your armory to have it appear on your other hand.

    Also while I'm at it, I want to talk about belts. So from what I understand once upon a time that Belts were able to be seen, but it would be nice that old feature was re-enabled again and was given the option to be invisible just like your helmet.

    I understand that some people apparently didn't like the belts though.

    Belts can't be seen because modelling them to fit gear was apparently a nightmare. Viera and Hrothgar can't even get all of their headpieces, and you want them to model all belts (a task they refused to do even back in ARR because it was too difficult) to be visible?

    My only beef with rings in this game is how tomestone/drop rings still are limited to 1 per character by the 'unique' flag. If only they could raise the limit to 2, just for rings.

    I would love for the waist slot to be used for the sashes and skirts that are currently modelled into either the body or leg gear. It would open up a huge amount of mixing and matching. I can understand why they don't want to *need* to include a visible waist item (or leave space for one) in every design, but I really wish it was something they could use intermittently.

    As for rings, I guess making it a single item that appears on a designated hand would be much like the bracelets currently work - though I would hope you could get versions for each hand (eg. weathered ring goes on the left hand but the identical brass ring goes on the right hand) and I don't think they do that with bracelets.

    This brings up something from a past expansion that I’m baffled the devs haven’t done again since.

    At the end of Heavensward, there were actually THREE potential sets of BiS accessories instead of the usual two. Tome, Savage raid, and Proto Ultima. So for classes that ended up with crap sub stats on one of the standard rings, the third set awarded them another option instead of going for pentamelded crafted or double tome (one upgraded and one without).

    I thought the devs would actually try this again with Eureka. Apparently not.

    From a gameplay perspective gear slots can be divided into three categories: weapons, armor and accessories. Within each category it doesn't really matter if there's one slot or five. They could be reduced to 1 weapon, 1 armor and 1 accessory and gameplay would remain largely unchanged. Heck, armor and accessory could probably be merged too since they give the same types of stats. The choice to divide up the slots in the way that they are is largely based on convention and aesthetic values.

    But like OP said, what's the point of getting two of the same ring? They could adjust battle system or just double the stats on one ring.

    ... really wanting less for increasing stats how bad can you be honestly we need a 2nd ear ring slot a second bracelet slot ..... and honestly we should have got a cape slot
