In Aion, it exist(ed) for PVP, it was called Ordalie suicide (It was a daily quest to get 55pvp stuff if I remember properly. HL tag with a lowlevel who can't enter and then suicide and then minimal reward but it takes 10seconds) XD

Welcome to the reason why I stopped caring for EX-mounts in Stormblood and quickly gave up on Savage Raiding back then in good old Heavensward. Everybody who doesn't go with the weekly plan of a static is doomed to have a mixed bag of teammates - unless you got some friends who are helping you out, that is.

Just ask my husband who's farming Ruby these days. He rolls on the weapons numbers that are hilariously low - which feels like RNG wants to punish him for enduring bad parties - and is probably going to buy the mount once more with tokens (because the awful thing is shy as hell plus ALWAYS prefers the weakest / worst-geared player of the group).

When you compare E5S to Trust content, this is an apples to oranges comparison. Granted, I agree with you to some point about the 'quality' of players, but let's do it at a more normalized comparison. Something simple like CF, a raid that a lot of people are running, which IMO is a fun raid and I do run it - a lot. It's not Savage, which 100% of the player-base doesn't run, and that number will be smaller - more catered to elitist types or most of those in between casual and elite. CF is a good example because it's level 80 regular content and part of the Alliance DF.

Where I agree with you about quality going downhill can be found in this raid on a daily basis. I don't really care about iLvl gear and they don't need to be the best player. They just need to do one simple thing - remove their face from the keyboard so they pay attention to what's happening. Get out of bad, avoid the big purple bubbles, really simple. I run this place so often, I have macros set up to explain each fight. I get ridiculed for it by those who have run this place multiple times. They forget the new players don't know what to do and I am going to try and help them out. However, when you have a player running with 6 vuln stacks at every encounter, dying to each pull because they are too lazy or pre-occupied and not paying attention to simple mechanics like Engles (watch out for those big ass arms swinging), there's nothing even I can do to help them out, but I've done my best. I stop rezzing them, because it's more productive for me as a healer to keep those tanks up. My point is - this is an increasing problem in there, and other places. I'd hate to see them do a weekly Iconoclasm, because that place is all about paying attention to what's going on. And, it's not a matter of not learning. It's simply a matter of not wanting to learn, or being so lazy, they expect to just faceroll and hope for the best.

Where I don't agree with you, is about skipping 'bullshit' and getting handed your trophy, because you may be good enough to do the content but someone else is not. This is a game about socializing, teamwork, accomplishments and fun. If someone isn't cutting it, you have options - vote them out, leave, help the player(s) having trouble, make a pre-made group, etc. We did this with our FC and a few others who already cleared Eden Savage content. It took us about six hours to clear the content from start to finish learning on one boss. Not really bad at all, considering us new people didn't even watch a video on it. I don't consider myself a trash player, I pay attention, ask questions and do my best. Because I died, I should be tossed out? You do remember that people do need to learn something, instead of just going in and completing it, right? You were there once, I'm sure of it. In short, skipping the bullshit is an entitlement play.
