You don't even need three tanks for most of it.

Nope. It has gotten to the point where 99% of the time I never have to intervene, though I may turn on tank stance to help keep control of things while dps AoE down groups of mobs. But other than that I tend to leave the MTing to the other 2 tanks. Unless they are just standing there, obviously, in which case I will step forward. But I don't want to be the start of a tank war. It's not worth it.
I would be happy to see a difficulty increase. I don't know anyone who runs old raids for fun. Take the tomestones out, or give them an easier way to get tomes and I doubt people would ever touch them.
That said, there are a lot of raids and increasing difficulty would increase the time needed to run them, so I worry that getting 24 people to run them might be a problem if the devs just raised the difficulty. It would be counter-productive if making the raids harder meant new players had even less chance of finding a group for them.
In an ideal world I'd like to see:
- Alliance Roulette kept exactly as it is
- A new Min ilvl Alliance Roulette
or
- A new mode for these raids which allows for smaller groups (say 8-12?) but which is the same difficulty as a Min ilvl Roulette 24 person raid
I appreciate that last one would be more work but the game desperately needs more mid-level content, and right now, these old raids are basically wasted resources. With a little imagination they could be turned into something challenging and fun.
Add in challenges like having to ignore certain mechanics and a few titles and other rewards for doing those challenges, and I think we could have content that will keep mid-core players happily engaged for some time.
Considering that echo exists and is even give immediately in a lot of older content from the get go, they will never buff content. ever. quote it, mark my words. It will never happen. Trust me I like harder/engaging normal content in my roulettes too, but in 7 years have yet to see ANY content buffed other than removing bugs from fights that made them cheese.

That's why all they'd need to do is make the Crystal Tower raids have a forced minimum ilevel. This way SE don't break their trend of nerfing old content... though it's the player they're nerfing this time :^)Considering that echo exists and is even give immediately in a lot of older content from the get go, they will never buff content. ever. quote it, mark my words. They have a minimum item level requirement to queue. They do not synch players to that minimum level, which is what previous posters have been referring to.
Personally, I think synching to that minimum is unnecessary. Maybe synch LotA and ST to the minimum of the next raid in the series? Enough to make it doable, but still have at least some awareness required. Clearly synching them all to the current 130 is overkill.
They will never do that for roulette. There is a minimum item level sync for undersized party if people want.
Maybe, but unless they want to change the sync rule for every content, they won't do that for just Crystal Tower. And I don't expect them to either.Personally, I think synching to that minimum is unnecessary. Maybe synch LotA and ST to the minimum of the next raid in the series? Every other roulette except for MSQ, Normal Raid, and Expert has varying synch levels depending on the instance (and MSQ is only excepted because it only has two instances at the same level anyway, so there's no level variance to consider). Even among same-level instances in the same roulette, the 50/60/70 and 80 roulettes have some instances synched to different item levels. So there's already precedent for it.
