Yep. I'm not there to talk. I'm there to gather, though I may chime in every once in a great while depending on what people are talking about. But other than that I'm just cruising along listening to music and doing my own thing.
This is me as well. I will say "hello" but that's about it. I mainly listen to music and just focus on gathering.
The scores for MIN/BTN are probably the least volatile overall as there's no skill or significant RNG involved and the only things you can do to speed it up is having cordials to spam and enough stats to meet all of the bonus requirements on nodes. Otherwise, it's just a straight grind...which favors the botters heavily in that regard.
FSH is very RNG heavy, but I was averaging about 10 gobbiemasks a hour (Which is 15.8K points) by using Double Hook on every one I successfully hooked, using cordials on cooldown, and maximizing the number of moochable fish I got using Patience (Patience II is overkill and the longer duration is counter-productive if you're going to be using Double Hook).
10 a HOUR? Damn, the RNG gods loved you! I am lucky if I can get 2 opportunities for double hooking in a hour, sometimes I don't see any, just constant double tugs.
And yes, I know all the tricks, I just have REALLY crap luck usually. As people say, it's ALL about the RNG in fishing no matter HOW geared you are.
yeah, even with DH, if you don't get the bite you don't get the fish. I see 3 bites an hour, plus those gobbies get away even with good gear. Those raking in 160k a DAY fishing.... sorry, I'm just not buying it.
Sadly this was bound to happen as soon as rewards limited to placement in ranking was announced. Ideally SE should just remove all such rewards from future content.
Been monitoring the placements of some of the botters, and it seems like they're only succeeding in breaking into top 12 on lower population servers for the most part.
I seriously doubt anyone actually cares enough to do something about it, though.
Simply doing a blanket investigation of every level 80 player in the zone who's using Preparation would probably catch most of them if they did actually care.
I'm definitely not going to dismiss that bots are a problem. First time I came back from Diadem to put some stuff up for sale, I knew right then and there that they monopolized the market. However, I just can't be bothered to pay any attention to them while I am out gathering. Trying to figure out their patterns, taking note of their behaviour, keeping track of how many there are; why do this?
I am not sure if it is good or bad that I simply ignore them, and live complacently among them. What I do know is bad is if I was to obsess over them in such a way that it impacts the things I want to get done during my playtime. Perhaps I do my part by simply farming my own materials. I am not sure, but I have more fun that way.
I honestly don't go out of my way to identify them, since the circular layout of the Diadem inevitably means I'm going to encounter everyone in the instance sooner or later.I'm definitely not going to dismiss that bots are a problem. Their red flags have not changed a bit since the HW days, so noticing them is practically instinctive to me at this point, and I have a hard time simply putting them out of mind knowing that they're constantly hassling legit players in one way or another.
I suppose I'm just clinging to some small hope that the problem is going to escalate to a point where the devs decide it simply can't be ignored anymore.
Last I checked SE barely does anything about overworld botting, why would they suddenly change tact now?
I am not very competitive to care , i just wanna be able to get my rewards and i can be happy. But i don’t even need to read a lot of what you wrote to believe you. Its a game, and with games comes cheaters...there will always be cheaters. Idk why even play if you gonna cheat or use bots..its like u are just a faker.like its embarrassing , are they proud of themselves? So i say just keep reporting each time u think there is a bot or cheaters, it will do great service to actual players playing properly. And don’t worry about people judging u for think there are cheaters or not. We are all gamers , we know lowly cheaters are part of the gaming world. And will always be part of the gaming world. Those who would judge u or critic you for thinking someone might be cheating or using bots or scripting or etc...the ones judging or criticizing you for think so might be the actual cheaters ...or are just pathetic.I already made a Restoration-related topic about a related issue, but this one has blown up rather suddenly and felt it needed to known about immediately.
I saw almost 10 different bots in a recent Diadem instance in the wee hours of the morning, which when split among the entire data center does not seem like much, but with only 12 Saint of the Firmament spots available to each DoL class per server, it is definitely a potential problem depending on whether or not they can actually catch up to the legit players who really dug their feet in before the new botting scripts were publicized.
These guys are almost certainly trying to cheat the rankings as the amount of profit to be made in there is rather small with how flooded the market board is with materials from the myriads of other players chasing a top spot through legitimate means.
There are players who have been pulling long shifts of 12+ hours legitimately to get into the top 12 for the DoL classes, and it would be awful if any of them got kicked out by these lazy do-nothings who want all the rewards with no effort, especially considering how limited the Saint of the Firmament title is going to be according to present information (The next ranking period was claimed to only be starting in 5.3).
It was never acceptable for botting to be as prevalent as it's been up to now with the impact it's had on the market board and other aspects of gameplay, but when it's now actively interfering with a ranking system that has limited rewards it's crossed a new line. However, when my previous reports on bots have literally never yielded any results, I'm feeling a touch reluctant to even bother trying anymore.
TLDR: Diadem botters are trying to cheat their way to the top and they need to be purged immediately.
