    Ideas for new crafting interface, and removal of crafting lag...

    Here are my ideas for a future crafting system. First of all, I believe that the game should continue developing its work-to-craft system, because it's more fun than gathering mats and pressing a button to manufacture. But it does need to be sped up A LOT.

    Here's my idea for improving the crafting interface:

    A. Allow button commands in order to do standard, rapid, and quality crafts. (QWE perhaps). Pressing the button preforms the relevant assigned command.

    B. Toolbar menu (similar to Disciple of War toolbar) that allows key presses to preform abilities such as Masterpiece. REMOVE the time it takes for these to process, to speeden the craft up. I should be using these all the time (1 -> e would instantly cast masterpiece, then quality craft for example.)

    C. (more optional, perhaps later down the road) allow queing of crafting commands, so I can que 10 actions or so on a single craft and step away from the computer. Just so, for the crafts i know exactly what I have to press, I dont have to sit and click every time an animation is done.

    The final idea I leave with you: What if, the first time you craft a recipe, it makes a "Work Order" or a "Factory Schematic." This customizable schematic could then be given to your retainer to craft while you do whatever it is you do (naked time with kitty race, adventure, etc.), OR you can pay your craft's guild a fair to use their facilities to mass produce a schematic. You would require the materials, of course, and it would take some time to complete.

    I just want to see an interface that doesn't need the long and tedious crafting animations. I'd rather see my character constantly hammering, etc. away and then do the interactions in a menu, instantly. The one reason why crafting is still so abhorrent is because it's a massive timesink.

    They should just move all commands to the action bar.

    Agreed as above.

    Being able to craft 10 items consecutively would be a very nice addition to the crafting system.

    Not a good idea, I don't' want to see players getting something for nothing.

    Agree with Zelkelion that a constant crafting animation should be playing whilst you craft.

    I would like to see the minigame be more interactive than just hitting the same buttons over an over, something like a failure requires you to use a specific skill to correct the mistake you just made.

    Your letter C would constitute afk playing which is severely frowned upon by SE. If your character is doing stuff you're supposed to be right there making them do it.

    This is a brilliant idea. I've been thinking about it for over a year and this is the breakthrough the game needs.

    This is a genius suggestion about what to do with the animation. When you go into crafting mode the animation should play on a loop. That way while you enter commands the loop can be subtly tweaked without being jarring or locking you. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

    Yeah thats fine, I never AFK play. But It is quite annoying when the weaving wheel stops

    Bumping this to the top so maybe more people can give their opinion.

    The point of this thread is to post the following ideas:

    -) New improved animations for crafting. The idea we are tossing around is that crafting animations should never stop (Although I WOULD like to see new animations overall, but its not such a big deal.). Please see. This goes hand in hand with:

    -) increased crafting speed. Less clicks by streamlining the entire system. Toolbar instead of listing for the interface.

    -) Reduction of crafting lag overall.

    I think I'd be happy just if they removed the action lag. If I could just rapidly fire off commands to get a synth done lickety-split, that'd be awesome.
