We don’t all pay the same subscription. Legacy accounts have a subscription discount, due to them playing in 1.0.

I think BR players should get a discount, simply because they cannot play the game the way it’s intended. There’s no BR servers, so they have much higher ping, which makes the game less enjoyable.

Anyway, I think OP means more in terms of not how much money the sub is, but what you can usually buy for that amount in BR. For the cost of FF14 sub, I can get 2 large meals at a fast food restaurant, in BR you could probably buy much much more.

I’d personally would like to pay my sub with the usd price, rather than eu price. The sub in EU is $12.99. In the US, it’s $12.99 usd. Europeans are actually paying more than Americans, 12.99 EU is worth $14 usd

Yes, you absolutely can buy much more in BR for the same amount, and that's a choice the OP has to make. But do you know what's going to happen again (because it happened once before) if BR got regional pricing? All the VPNs and address spoofers will come out, and a huge amount of non-BR players will start paying in BR, giving S-E a fraction of the revenue that they would otherwise get.

It does not work. It cannot work. Either you pay in USD or you don't. It's that simple.

No it’s not. I don’t pay in usd, they make me pay in EU, and it sucks.
I pay $2.50 NZD more just because they think 12.99 EU is equal to 12.99 usd.

Steam accounts pay with their regional currency by the way.

First of all: no, we don't. Japan, NA, EU and UK regions have different prices in Mog Station to begin with, and the rates aren't 100% equall (despite that, the % that sub costs to wage in those countries is similar). 1.0 players have a discount for a sub. Some countries have discounts for playing trough Steam.

    Second: Subscription is "Same" when "sub/minimum wage * 100% for country A = sub/minimum wage * 100% for country B".

(Brazil and Russia were both losing regional sub in the beginning of SB, so I will bring them both up).
Brazilian minimum wage: 1045 BRL/Month, which is 218,09 USD as per today. What was the sub for NA region again? 12,99 USD? 12,99/218,09 * 100% = 5,9%
Russian minimum wage (Russia is considered EU region, so will move it to EUR): 12130 RUB/Month, which is 150,25 EUR as per today. EU sub is 12,99 EUR, so 12,99/150,25 = 8,64%

And now there is US, EU, Canada and Japan
    Canadian minimum wage: 11,06 CAD/Hour, which will make for about 2123,52 CAD/Month, if you work 24 days and 8 hours. Which is 1534,78 USD. 12,99/1534,78 * 100% = 0,85%.
Germany & France minimum wage (both are about the same, according to Google): ~1550 EUR. 12,99/1550 * 100% = 0,83%
UK minimum wage: 1524 EUR, which does about 1357,44 GBP. UK sub is 8,99 GBP. 8,99/1357,44 * 100% = 0,66%
    US minimum wage: 7,25 USD/Hour, which with 8 hours/24 days will do 1392 USD. 12,99/1392 * 100% = 0,93%
    Japan minimum wage: 874 JPY/Hour, which with 8 hours/24 days will do 167808 JPY. JP sub is 1408 JPY. 1408/167808 * 100% = 0,83%

Does it mean that 12,99$ is not much for EU or NA or Canada or JP players? No, it doesn't. I'm quite sure there are plenty of people that struggle to pay this sub. But there is significant difference between "more than 5% of wage" and "less than 1% of wage". We don't pay the same.

The only tragedy here, is that you even needed to explain this at all. Hilarious that people refuse to just think 2 seconds, and realize this on their own. Nicely laid out by you though. Well done.

Yeap, seeing this I noticed I gave misinformation with the post. I messed up US minimum wage with the biweekly payment xD

We do. Non-Steam user here, in Canada, and I pay my sub in USD.

Sounds like you're the one who needs to educate themselves.

Brazilian Steam subscription is 28,90 BRL. 1 dollar is 5 BRL at the momment. I'll let you do the math.
And considering taxes, I pay even more on subscription than you do. Again, we don't pay the same sub.

If you choose to play on Steam, that's your choice and you live with the consequences of that. For everyone else? You pay through Mog Station and you'll get charged your local currency equivalent of $12.99 USD (or more, if you choose the standard over the entry).

So we all pay the equivalent of $12.99 USD in our local currency. Otherwise known as the same.

Sad that this has to be painstakingly explained.
