    The reason certain games don't have animation lock is not because of faceroll gameplay, it's because they have random and responsive aoe's that have to dealt with and their are no safespots (if there is, guess what, they get hotfixed quickly).

    All games have those faceroll people who only do what they want and play what they want, that is human nature and it's not exclusive to games.

    Standing in safespots and only using abilities or spells when it is safe is not strategy, it's common sense that is quite rare. Combos that require facing certain sides of the monster, abilities monsters use that you can avoid (Chimera breaths, ifrit breaths, cracks, plumes, mrd moogle aoe, antlion mandible bites, cyclops swing and eye of the beholder etc etc) are not fun to deal with this horrible server response time.

    Is the server going to update my positioning before swing goes off this time? I'm out of eruptions but will the server update before they explode?

    There is just so many things they could add to fights that people would enjoy, but if they continue onto the path of just stand still in the safespots and don't use abilites if it's not safe is just going to be boring as fuck.

    This x100 I want more fights that has no safe spots and everyone gets punished, tired of range having this advantage, and yes fkin getting hit by Coins AoE when you ran away is fkin annoying they shouldn't even have moves in the game that can one shot you with this server lag. Fighting the monster is one thing but fighting the lag is whole other beast.

    Well they said it was bug maybe it was breaking something else idk, but as long as its gonna be fixed in 2.0 idc.

    Edit: speaking of 2.0 i think ill read over the 2.0 files....

    Although as I mentioned earlier animation lock can be annoying I cannot comprehend why so many people are having an issue with it. Battle design is centralized around implemented mechanics. These fights have been constructed and tested with animation lock in mind. I never have a problem with animation lock. The only time I had a problem with animation lock was when I was new to a fight, or if I ended up doing something stupid. You die in fights, that happens.

    Animation lock is annoying.

    Holes in Super Mario are annoying.

    Those god damn reapers in Resident Evil 5 that pop out of nowhere and pick you up and repeatedly eviscerate you are annoying.

    It's an element of the game you work around. I don't think it's a glitch, it's a mechanic, and it's one I find visually appealing. I DO NOT WANT to see my character sliding around while shooting a bow or casting a spell. What is this, the 90s?

    Practice not sucking. Simple enough. I can't recall the last time animation lock has messed me over unless I did something stupid. If I can do it, you guys can do it. Stop QQing.

    Yoshida: Yes, all of these things will be fixed.

    For anyone who doesn't click the link. That quote ends the debate on whether animation lock is or is not a problem (Yoshi himself knows it's a problem), as well as if it will be fixed. I would not say the debate on how people would like to see it fixed (such as speeding up animations, leaving animations the same speed and allowing movement while using them, etc) though.

    I think people aren't complaining about animation lock in that regard...
    Its like this...
    Ifrit does eruption... you dodge it because you knew it was coming
    But what people want for 2.0 with the removal of animation lock, server lag and the crappy positional lag is for Ifrit to do eruption... you see it coming and dodge it....
    Ifrit doesn't require fast reflexes... it just requires that you do abilities for 7 seconds and then wait for him to do one....
    It's not a mechanic... It is the result of poor coding... it is NOT working as intended...

    You dont dodge boss abilities, you dodge the clock

    When I read stuff like this is makes me resentful. I argue against parts of the game which limit the player's control or ability to react, but I argue for very difficult demanding content. They are VERY different things, so don't come in here telling people to stop "QQing" when you don't know the difference between a mechanic put in the game to be challenging, and a byproduct of bad design that unintentionally makes the game a hassle.
