Why is all the new hair that get added short hair?

I kinda wish there was more long hairstyles too. I'm not satisfied with alot of current long hairstyles, and I really wish they added more longer hairstyles sometime soon. Am I the only one bothered over hair problems right now? Austhetician deserves better than this...

long hairstyles clip horribly and do not have the proper physics to move realistically. longer hairstyles require more "bones" to be added to character modelling and that's something the devs aren't willing to touch on or develop right now (or ever it seems since the game is 6+ years old now).

They aren't short. They're mid length. As a man, I would very much go for some new short and masculine styles. Instead, we get mid length and long styles that are typically viewed as more feminine. Also, there's already a thread about this. Go post there.

Well, most of the new ones. I suspect wanting more conventionally androgynous hairstyles, as well as clipping issues probably play a role a bit, though both are pretty flimsy reasons. However it’s the best I got. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe once they've added them all they'll hold another contest and a longer style will win.

I do wish they'd go back and consider some of the ones that made the initial cut for voting, but never actually won. Because I desperately want some of them.

Your definition of short must basically be borderline bald imo because we have a ton of short hairstyles. Maybe not the short hairstyles you want but they're still short no matter how you slice it.
I already know what kind of short you're talking about too because lots of Western games have them and though FFXIV doesn't have short styles to that degree, we still have TON's of short hair.

Where when it comes long hair we only have like...uhh..the game is down so can't count but from memory 7?
and few of them are race/gender locked.

Yes, that's pretty much what he's asking for, but I imagine the devs are hesitant to add actually short hair because most females won't like it, just like how most males don't use the majority of the totally-not-made-for-females androgynous hairstyles. Most hairstyles are of average length, they're definitely not long, but most certainly not short either. We're in dire need of both, long and short hairstyles, therefore we must unite against this oversaturation of Bob cuts, we won't stand for more Karens!

About once a week I post a thread for more hairstyles/ NPC exclusive hairstyles etc - I think it's starting to show how annoyed people are with only short hairstyles when there are hairstyles like Yugiri's or Hiens or Gaia's that are already in the game that could just be developed further for more races

I don't think you understand because guys really don't have many options for short hair. Most of the hair that gets added it's on the feminine side and is mid length to long in length.

Edit: I just looked and out of the 66 hairstyles I have access to, only about 6 - 8 of them would I consider short. So try again in telling me that we have LOADS of short hair.
