A simple way to make Scholar less boring

Scholar would be less boring if Energy Drain was made into a more involved minigame.

Increase Broil's cast time to 3 seconds, but make it proc an aetherflow.

Honestly, that could be enough.

Give the faerie an AOE attack that uses 1 Fey Gauge though (let Emergency tactics turn the AOE into Fey Blessing, and reduce the cooldown on that), and you tie a lot of things together.

I don’t understand what this would actually change -
so instead of broil broil broil we do
broil ruin(ED) broil ruin(ED) broil ruin(ED)?
Yeah that increases the number of buttons to press but it doesn’t actually make SCH any more engaging to play.
Would the regular Aetherflow ability still exist alongside this, or would it be gone now we can generate it automatically?
Why a 3s cast time too - is it to mimic BLM’s stationary playstyle while constant ED allow you to move with Ruin? Because it’ll play more like RDM’s dualcast.

Onto the fey attack - will it actually cost 1 gauge, or did you mean 10?
I assume it shares a recast with Blessing, as it is transformed into it by ETac - is that correct? Or does ETac just replace it while active (like Geiskogul and Nastrond)
What sort of damage will it do? A strong single hit or a DoT, and how much damage?

In addition - why do you think that SCH should have to keep giving up damage to heal while AST gives up nothing and WHM only pays for their joint healing and movement tools.

I disagree with making dps generate aetherflow stacks, however, I am in support of the idea of your dps generating small amounts of fae gauge that would then feed into your healing. Increase the rate at which scholar generates fae guage, but add the cost to more of the scholars faerie abilities, and in tandem with that. Add a skill that allows you to dump excess fae gauge without overheal. However, it needs restrictions on it to prevent it from making the scholar choose it in all situations over spending it on healing. The idea I came up with was make the skill only useable at 80+ fae guage and make it cost just enough that you always have enough guage stored up to use a spender to heal if you so choose.

Better yet: Broil, Ruin (Lustrate/ED), Broil, Ruin, (Lustrate/ED), etc.

Stick in an occasional Indom and you'd never need another healer again.

How about, Broil has a chance to proc Ruin. Ruin when procced deals 20 more potency and grants an aetherflow.
