4 Expansions later and tab targeting is still bad.

Use a controller? On ps4 I can face a direction and press X and it will target whatever is closest in that direction. The cycle target hold L/R2 then press L/R1 and it cycles around left right starting with a random target. I assume is is like tab on PC, is there not a equivalent X option for kea boards?

Just like it did in wow. Except those were intentional changes intended to make it more functional.

Tab is simple once you understand how it functions.

It targets, in order, from left to right on your screen, in your field of view.

It would be simpler if they just changed it to where it targets the closest thing to my body and not the closest thing to the left of my screen.

I have ~ target closest enemy and don't have an issue with tabbing after the fact. regardless of job.

It's still the worst tab targeting system I have ever used. Out of all the problems in this game that is one that should have been fixed ages ago. Hate on me all you want, call me names and how stupid and spoiled I am coming from WoW but, tab targeting in this game is garbage and needs to be fixed.

They added an option a while ago that allows you to change the tab targeting behaviour.



By default it ignores the depth and yes, seemingly targets at random, but the other is a cone in the direction your camera (i think) is facing, meaning it'll cycle through closest to furthest as you might expect.



You also have this as an option too.

While most of everything in this game is broken I still enjoy what isn't. Like trials are great, story is better than most even being a basic story of good vs evil, pvp is decent with the new ovoo map. While I hate this games bad mechanics, it's still a good game.
