4 Expansions later and tab targeting is still bad.

It's still the worst tab targeting system I have ever used. Out of all the problems in this game that is one that should have been fixed ages ago. Hate on me all you want, call me names and how stupid and spoiled I am coming from WoW but, tab targeting in this game is garbage and needs to be fixed.

I haven't played WoW in like 10 years and I remember its Tab targeting being even more basic than this. What exactly is the problem with it?

I brought up this issue once before in r/ffxiv and got nothing but git guds and learn to play with it wow scum and random comments like that. needless to say i was banned from ffxiv for having a particular vocabulary when talking with some of those people XD. Nothing racist mind you but, pretty harsh language none the less.

I do agree. I still have issues with targeting, because for what ever reason, it doesn't want to target what is straight in front of me, but rather from left to right (?) I don't know how it works, but I wish there were some settings to improve it. Maybe there are, I haven't really checked.

I don't recall my SW:TOR or WoW experience being better, but I could be that used to it on FFXIV from playing it so much.

Tab targeting in this game does not target what is directly in front of you like other games. It scans through seemingly at random. Let's say you are fighting something and another thing targets you. You kill the thing you were fighting and try to quickly target the thing attacking you with tab. Instead of targeting that, it targets a monster behind it and shoot. You now have 2 things attacking you instead of the one. In PvP it's much worse. You will be in a large fight and you try and tab target to the dragoon in front of you. Instead it targets Ifrit or turret or dark knight all way on the other side of the map. XD

I've experienced the wonky tab targeting in other games as well - I guess I've just learned to live with it
