I'm not bothered that I won't be able to play the end game, but it would be nice to have a variety of options to level which is why I was interested in the beast tribes. I am absolutely hopeless in dungeons for too many reasons to go into so I'll continue to avoid them and just play what parts of the game I can (which are still considerable ). To those who offered to help, I really do appreciate it, but I would fret over going into one with you, even though I know you would be very patient. Still, nice to know there are so many people like you in game.
Are you just not progressing the main story at all? You're not only missing out on some great story (the majority of the game, honestly), but you won't be able to access any content above level 50, at all, without either doing or skipping the story. This includes gathering, and your crafting will be severely limited as well. I don't recommend skipping the story, but if you do, at least you could go to the level 50-70 zones.

As has been mentioned, though, you'll still get stuck in the story even if you skip it because you're going to be required to do group content that Trusts can't be used for to progress.

I suggest you take the help you're being offered. If you feel bad, you could even pay someone (in gil) to carry you through content.
