I just find whole gathering mats for restoration In Diadem very boring. I don't like where don't know if node will even have mats you need unlike how fist one was. Then have to waste time to have stacks of 10 mats inspected.

I love it. I feel I am getting scrips way faster than the gathering side of things. Almost maxed out the 10k limit, and really find it addicting.

Heeey it's pretty good, standard FFXIV. Click things, get shinies and numbers. Sometime you see one of these "other players" things (I'm not quite sure what they're supposed to serve), they may even move !
And you can fly. Very important.

Gatherer leves are still quicker. You only gain around .5% (I calculated this when I was level 56, and without any exp modifiers which still wouldn't make it any faster than leves, it will probably be the same for every other level) of your exp bar per successful gathering attempt in Diadem. It takes around 150-200 successful gathering attempts to level up once, which is around 15-30 minutes of continuous, you can't stop, gathering. It's great for lazy people like me though who use the auto-gather function and tab out to watch Netflix until it's time to fly to the next node.
If you're talking about inspection, it's instant, just use the 'auto submit' button. Takes less than 5 seconds to inspect thousands of mats.
i can see myself doing it once or twice aweek and getting a decent amount of scripts from it so i wouldnt say its a total bust the only thing is seems like a buttload of items u gather definetly need alot of space but thats just a minor gripe.

My biggest worry with it is that It's going to get REAL old gathering almost all my mats level 1-80 or stage 2-?? for all my crafts in one zone
I personally think weather/DoL class based background music changes would do at least a little to stave off the monotony of farming.

It does take a lot of inventory space, but so does Ocean Fishing. At least you can sell your unwanted mats on the market board and get something out of them. Besides prints or desynthing to get a bit of bait back, the fish from Ocean Fishing are useless.

I'm not sure what people were expecting for gathers besides a place to... well... gather?
I really enjoy it. It's simple and to the point. It's a great base for adding things to it over the course of the restoration.
One thing I would like to see is bosses where everyone has to get together and shoot it. Maybe a boss similar to Vishap where instead of attacking players it's marching towards a certain location and you have to stop it before it gets there. I think it would be really fun and would be incentive to keep charges up.
I do think there could be more random events aside from the weather; particularly something that lets MIN/BTN gets points faster because their rate of gain is way slower then FSH comparatively.

I'd like to see some more active events to spice it up. Something like, say, a FATE involving an airship full of goblins bombs an area, leaving easily-gathered loot laying around, and players can try to grab it before the gobbies get to it (or shoot at the goblins with the cannon to claim their loot). Or a Garlean warmachina drops in to dig and players can shoot at it to drive it off.
