unable to access any menus/game is saying im in no linkshells or a free company

as the title says i can access no menus (options/social/anything else) when i click them nothing happens the game is also saying im in no linkshells or a free company which i am as the people in them can see when i log on and off a bunch of my icons also seem to be messed up and not displaying correctly a friend said it sounds like some kind of file corruption is anyone else having this kind of issues? a bit more context: i logged on this morning when the servers came online and everything was working fine...i really did not want to reinstall the game

EDIT: ended up reinstalling as after 2 hours of troubleshooting on my own nothing fixed the issue. reinstall seems to have fixed everything but i hate the fact that was the only solution that seems to work
