Well, you could argue that whoever agreed to wait on me (probably just the tank) can be considered selfish because they slowed down the whole party just so they can feel good about themselves.
No that's not necessarily true. I've been in things before where we have all decided to wait for the person who dc'd because it was the courteous thing to do. Anyway I'm done replying to you in this thread because it's derailing from the actual topic. Which is nice things people have had done for them in this game.
When my wife and I were very brand new, we came across a lovely Lala gentleman in a nice sweater. We interacted with him a bit using enotes. He handed us a decent amount of gil and asked us to join his FC.
This could be seen more as a recruitment tactic than an act of kindness, but this Lala guy has continued to be extra kind. A week after joining the FC, my wife and I were minding our own business down in the South Shroud. I was turning in a WHM quest. Then all of a sudden the gentleman Lala shows up and hands us each a little dog minion and just as quick leaves. Another time he took time out of his day to speedrun us through a dungeon we needed for a Hunting Log completion.
Another story:
We were in the East Shroud doing quests, and someone shouted they needed more DPS at x, y coords. I checked the map and it was a FATE. My wife and I showed up with our chocobos. And so dod probably every other person in that zone. I think I counted around 8 chocobos and 10 people other than us. It was really great to see people just drop whatever they were working on and come to the aid of a complete stranger.
My first FC leader gave me the ruffled dress and a morpho minion on my first day playing this game. I was a lvl 6 baby conjurer.
I decided back then that, one day, I'll do the same for someone else.
