    Kind Souls (Share Your Experience!)

A thread for sharing those stories of kindness and sometimes fuzzy feels!

Today, I was looking to trade phantasma tomes for one of the new 480 crafted weapons. I put up a party finder and sat in Eulmore. A kind soul comes up and offers to trade me the axe! I was blown away so I said "Are you sure?" And they responded with a "Yes". It's little things like these that make my day sometimes.

At a time when I was a beginner still, like just only playing for roughly two months with chocobo compsnion being lvl 12, I asked people in Limsa Lominsa how to get more of those items that you need to increase the max level of our little road runners *meep meep*

I was being told by a nice person that i need them either to buy, or plant seeds in housing.
I said, housing is no option to me, then that same person totally unexpectedly asked me, how many of those I do need oO

Totally perplex I answered honestly 8, then came back only as comment an "ouch"
And out of surprise a moment later that guy clicked me for a trade and gabe me right the amount i Needed so that i could bring my birdie to lvl 20 :-)

Out of surprise, when i found the market board, i searched what those items did cost at the same say and i was SHOCKED. Each of those thing got sold back then for like 1 million gil, so that person just gave out 8 million gil for me so that i was able to max out my companiob and i was like

Omg wtf thank you thank you thank you, because back at that time I had like only 150k gil total and wouldnt been able to afford myself that, it was like a huge fortune to me where i was thinking i'd never have this much gil xD

Now 1 year later i realize, how wrong i was back then xD

It's not full on generosity-type kindness, but... my last couple days in Hydatos with my boyfriend were spent doing NMs, and we kept encountering these two Miqo'te girls in matching outfits and appearances but different colours (and subraces). They made sure to always give us Protect and Shell (and didn't really give it to anyone else). One time I /dote'd at one of them for giving it to me and the other did some kind of angry emote, so I think they were together. And I think they got the impression my boyfriend and I were as well.

It was some nice solidarity and it was fun checking the player list and seeing them there when we arrived. I usually don't have positive experiences with strangers in this game.

I've been trying to get the Alexander Savage gear for like 3 months now. Usually my attempts with finding a party through party finder end up falling through as people get tired of waiting and leave or get into the trial itself and get frustrated because people don't know the fight and leave after a failed attempt.

This happened a few days ago. It's like 12am and I can't sleep. Bored in-game, I decided to try my luck again. I posted in the Party finder and ran into someone who was also looking to get some of the gear. They literally stayed with me for about an hour or so and we just chatted for a while about FF stuff. I was about to call it a night and someone else joined. Shortly after someone else did too. Maybe within 5-10 minutes, we had a full party. From that point, it took up about another 10-12 minutes to fully farm for the gear I wanted. I have been playing for the last 5 years and have never come across an experience like that. Everyone was just really...nice. If any of you all happen to read this. Thanks again. As someone who's wanted that body armor since the raid was initially released but isn't really into savage raiding, it feels great to finally have it.

While it's not really true to the purpose of this thread, I've experienced "kindness" that kind of bothered me.

It was in a dungeon and I was playing as dps when suddenly got disconnected from internet. It took a couple of minutes to reboot the internet and start up the game again, I expected they kicked me already since it took a little while. I got back in the game and saw that not only did they not kick me, they freakin waited on me (I was dps) before pulling next group of mobs!

I mean, it was nice that I didn't miss out on any xp gain but I kind of felt bad and uncomfortable for making them wait this long, I fully expected (and wished tbh) they had at least proceeded without me. Don't understand why you'd wait on a dps to proceed in a dungeon in all honesty, I personally would never do that as tank.

I get that you're a bitter person who likes to complain about how the average person doesn't speedrun their life, but the very least you can do is keep a wholesome thread wholesome instead of bitching about people being nice to you.

They were being nice to me by not being nice to themselves. Proceeding without me had pretty negligible consequences to me anyway so more harm was done than good. 1 person shouldn't spoil experience of other party members when they are redundant for proceeding the instance IMO.

Being nice to yourself and not to someone else is called selfishness. The opposite of what this thread is about.

As for a nice thing that happened to me, back in ARR I was working on my crafting and the Aethyrite (sp) Rings were the best at the time. I didn't have that craft leveled yet and I didn't have the gil to buy them. Another crafter just gave them to me. It was such a nice and unexpected surprise!

Well, you could argue that whoever agreed to wait on me (probably just the tank) can be considered selfish because they slowed down the whole party just so they can feel good about themselves.
