Yeah it is kinda telling how some people are in those in their view annoying threads, keeping them alive with their posts too instead of just ignoring it. Also megathreads are nice but at the same time when you look at the male Viera one there are enough people going into it to say how the discussion is stale and people should stop posting in it..seemingly we cant win. If we keep it to one thread people will accuse us of going into circles even if it started again because someone new posted their view and if those new ones start new topics instead of necroing old ones they are too attacked for doing it again..and in the middle of it all you have people just going into these threads with no intention of having a civil conversation to put the OPs and everyone else down. x)You’re annoyed at all the topics about the subject and yet you are consistently in every single new topic about it unable to resist trying to have the last word about how whiny you think all viera players are.
These topics are usually started by different people who don’t know about the thread that occasionally gets necro’d and serves as sort of the “megathread” from what I can tell. Be the change you want to see in the world, stop posting in them, and that’s one less bump to the top when people get bored of the subject until the next hair that we can’t use comes out.
Honestly if I have enough of a topic or dont care I simply ignore them.
I'm thinking the new races should have been postponed another expansion, but I think their decision to bring them in 5.0 was solidified when we got Frey from the Ivalice raids. There was no going back after that. Either way, all the issues going on with the Viera and Hrothgar are definitely a result of bringing in something before it was truly ready to be brought in. And I bet there is someone at SE who actually possesses foresight who they never listen to saying, "I told you effers!"
Yeah, it definitely does feel rushed or at the very least not well thought out from a players' perspective. They had to absolutely know this would be the result (along with huge demand for female Hrothgar and Male Viera). For some reason, they love repeatedly doing things they know will irritate the fanbase lol. They already went down this rabbit hole once before with Galka and Mithra (even going so far as to briefly add a "male" mithra npc in FFXI.)I'm thinking the new races should have been postponed another expansion, but I think their decision to bring them in 5.0 was solidified when we got Frey from the Ivalice raids. Its not rocket science that this would be our reaction.
To be fair, they did say that resource and time constraints were a factor regarding the current state of Hrothgar and Viera. So at least they were honest about it. They're just...way too slow with addressing player concerns, which is the biggest issue now in my opinion. We're 2 major patches into Shadowbringers and neither race has gotten anything. Heck, they can't even wear most new headpieces which have been released with each patch. They can wear Eden stuff, but Hrothgar headpieces are laughably small from there. The fending helmets are especially terrible. They didn't even bother to scale head sizes. They just put a hyur head on a Hrothgar body and called it a day. That is one of a few reasons that I couldn't stick with Hrothgar as much as I love the race. Maybe when they are given the proper amount of love I will race change again.Yeah, it definitely does feel rushed or at the very least not well thought out from a players' perspective. Fending helmets? Like closed face helmets? They can wear those, and they don't have a unique model? Like Skyrim where it deletes your snout? Maybe I am reading this wrong no.. no.. they wouldn't do that.To be fair, they did say that resource and time constraints were a factor regarding the current state of Hrothgar and Viera. They put a hyur head on a Hrothgar body, which makes the helmet look ridiculously small on a larger form. I wasn't expecting major alterations, but I would have hoped that they would have scaled the size of the helmets to reflect the size of a Hrothgar's head. Sadly, they did not. And the result is, while amusing, pretty sad.
I'm not asking for it to be fixed overnight. I'm asking them to make an official statement on the forums or lodestone with an estimated timeframe or any other crucial information they can provide. tidbits here and there spread out all over the place in interviews, articles, twitter, twitch, etc is not very helpful and most of its candid at best which is not an official response. I'm asking for them to lay out the issue in a statement and provide information on what they intend to do with it. off handed comments dont really tell the player base what their full intention is.To be fair, they did say that resource and time constraints were a factor regarding the current state of Hrothgar and Viera.
