Fix to the problem with everyone gathering in Ul'dah

After a patch once uldahs markets crashed for a whole week. during this week both gridania and limsa became very popular. everyone was everywhere. if they closed down uldahs markets for two weeks people would start selling elsewhere. I dont think this will turn uldah to a ghost town but provide a quick easy fix to the massive group in uldah.

The reasoning behind the uldah craziness was levs and market. All the good levs you wanted to do every lev cycle were all in uldahs areas. Because of this everyone also sold in Uldah, shouted and partied. I think SE tried to fix this offering some better rewards for other areas but it didn't really pan out.

Close it for a week, see what happens wont cost any money to do it but will help spread the player base imo.

And please dear god please.. no world chat >< that's the biggest most annoying feature I see in mmo's please!! *begs*

Eliminate the surcharge from Limsa and Gridania's Item Search counters as a temporary measure?

This is a fantastic idea, but only if they get rid of the tax being capped at 4k.

Having seperate AH's in XI did not work, just as it's not working here. Merge the Wards / new AH to be cross-city.

Trade channel in WoW was a bit crazy but, that said, it had its uses (as long as players can turn it off), so I do agree that a global channel across all cities is also VERY useful for letting people go wherever they cloose.

I think SE needs to think up other incentives for players to stick to other cities, though. An example being that if you belong to a Grand Company from Gridania, perhaps you would accrue rested exp by just being in the city and not just having to be in the inn, or allowing you to ride your chocobo in the city limits. Etc, etc. Both ideas might "not be possible" with the current engine and server, especially the former as I'm not sure how the code would react to gaining exp from a craft while rested was being added.

But the point of the matter is give us ways to interact with all cities from any city, and give us more reasons to go to other cities.

I do do my part, btw; homepoints been in Limsa for awhile now.

YOU CAN PUT YOUR LEVEL 50 UP and say "HEY IFRIT/MOOGLE/WHATEVER I'M IN!!" THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT IN THE FIRST PLACE IF PEOPLE USE THE DANG SEARCH FEATURE!

Because no matter how many times I check the search, nobody is fucking using it but the JPs. Everyone is too used to not having it so they forget to use it. Also it should allow auto-translate in the message.

Totally agree with this AND the thread in general. As absurd as it sounds, studies show that people operate off of visual cues more than anything else (there is a lengthy yet distinct difference between reading and symbols) which brings up the seek flag. The game needs this and it needs it in a simplified manner that is intuitive and familiar (keyword) to what the playerbase knows. And, from what I have experienced, a majority of players left (again, my experience) are XI players.
