FFXI AH system was very good imo
not saying that they should put it that way no i mean not showing the prices
because in the mean time we are witnessing great undercutting in almost every item in the markets because the prices are shown to players which will eventually lead to a deflation and will resort to players not wanting to make gil which will result alot of players to quit XIV
and yes Syncing the three cites market will solve the retainer issue and also make uldah less lagy
and about that shout Chanel we have it its the search system that so many ppl wanted it but no longer use it
u can put "ifrit/mog/cc/av can i have it" and we would get invites instead of shouting in uldah
People undercut the hell out of each other on FFXI's AH too. Undercutting is not avoidable in a free market. Prices do stabilize though, and will remain roughly at the item's true value. That is economics 101.
Just having shouts in cites able to be heard in other cities would solve the problem. As for the market wards, that would be nice as well.
IRL that is economics 101, in a vidya game its a fail statement. I'm all for immersion but these comparisons of real life phenoma to how the game functions really need to stop. lol
Please refer to my above statement.
Best idea i've seen. They could treat it like they did the chocobo circuit, it only let you exit to where you entered from, people did use it to trade with friends as a buffer area between cities, but i'm pretty okay with that. I could stay in one city and still trade/talk/hang out with friends in the CC. I'm sure they already have their plans set, I'll wait and see what happens.
Economy works more or less the same way could it be virtual or in real life. The law of supply/demand will always rules XIV economy. If prices are undercut, it is for a reason, supply > demand.
Shall the supply drop, and only couple sellers remain for a said item, then prices will rise again.
Antipika.

And the 20 people who spam a product for skillup and sell for way way less than its true value just to dump their invo instead of npc'n it without messing anything up.... ya.... find me a business that does that IRL plz. Again refer to my previous statement. There are many people who've studied and written on these topics, but RL =/= mmo economy.
