    Patch too large, delete games to make room

    On the PS4, had 44Gb of free space on my hdd. However, FF patch said could not download until I freed up 12Gb. Forcing me to uninstall a game of comparable size. Why? Patch was 231.9 kb in size. So why was it necessary to free up an additional 12Gb to just get the ball rolling on the patch? Is there something wrong with my system?
    (Note: I did uninstall and reinstall after SE made the announcement that the game will take up less space now some time ago)
