I'd love to know if they are going to explain the change in management through a sidequests

A Dancer and the only female character I remember seeing at the miners guild. She also took you to Black Brush in an instanced quest and was a key part in the whole little girl and the Thaum guy that got thrown under the bus for the opening battle scene.
I can't remember any 'female owner' of the miners Guild bar.
