Circular Aoe Spells missing targets

Circular Aoe Spells missing targets: When Powerleveling 2 friends I noticed that several mobs would always avoid my Blizzra and Fire/Fira/Firaga/Flare spells. Mobs that were definitely in range and did not resist.

Very often, only a few times did my spells hit every mob I pulled.

All times, we were there for atleast 1 or 2 full game days.

Steps:
One person rounds up several mobs, as many as they can hold safely.
Buff self to fully claim linked mobs, used Sanguine Rite.
Leave party so that kill credit goes to the remaining players.
Cast Fira/Blizzra to Kill mobs.
1-4 of them that were clearly in range would take 0 Damage, with no resist messages in the log that I notice.

Were you trying to cast on more than 8 mobs at a time? All aoe skills have a maximum number targets that you can hit of 8.

That's interesting, is it mentioned anywhere in the patch notes I wonder...

The limitation has always existed, so there really aren't any patch notes for that to be put in.
