What if RMT are able to get housing and to resell them. Does it sounds fair?

The housing is broken, you willingly admit or not.

Such short sighted arguments for some kind of sorry exclusivity in a virtual world is so sad. You don't even realize how poor the current system is if you wish to be imaginative and creative. The timer is just a lesser evil.

We can all agree and disagree but the housing system is one of the worst things they've implemented if not the worst. They advertise before you even sub that you can have an house and showcase some of the things you could do with them yet it is insane that you have to fight a damn placard to try and get one. Also why is it that FCs can own a whole damn wards and more? And players even sell their FC houses for insane prices on Reddit yet they bloody do nothing about it.

To OP, I have lost my house too without having received any email even though I was subbed thinking it would have been enough. I feel your pain.

Like sharing a house with my EB partner. The tenancies I'm willing to let slide a bit more, but the gardening aspect is way more limited in apartments than houses, and good luck doing cross-breeding in an apartment, it's impossible because the only indoor gardening furnishings are single node items. Since only 1 thing can be planted in them, you can't cross-breed. So thus apartmnents are not a viable option. Fortunately I'm on a very quiet realm so housing shortages aren't an issue here (at least in small houses, I even see mediums pop up fairly often). But it doesn't excuse the issues. In fact, I think on Balmung, even all the apartments are gone.
Oh, I actually didn't think of that. You have a point. I guess the solution would be to allow gardening inside, and to let players share their apartment with other players.
I hope apartments will be updated in the future with new possibilities.

If everyone and their moms had access to cross-breeding it would be pointless.

I don't know why cross-breeding is still brought up when you want to butcher its value.

OP, you say you understand the rules, but then proceed to whine about how unfair it was that you lost your house.

You clearly did not understand the rules.

Because outside of buying off the marketboard, it's the ONLY way to access certain seeds. So if making sure anyone who wants to access it is able to is "butchering its value", then I say butcher it.

Here's the thing, most of the stuff, you can choose to do. You can choose what job to gear up (even if you're limited), you can choose your specialist crafters (and change them up to 3x a week). The problem with cross-breeding is you could well be unable to access it due to factors outside of your control because of limited housing meaning you can't grab somewhere to use it. And going to an FC isn't an option either, there's a good number that either have dedicated planting people, or lock down its access. I know our FC is one of them. So again, not a factor in your control, so I won't accept the join an FC as an excuse. Even if apartments it was limited to a 3 slot plant, so you could cross-breed one (or maybe 2, I don't know if in order to cross breed you need 2 or 3 slots) at a time, that'd still make houses more valuable but not completely lock people out.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

How would it be pointless? You'd still have to get the seeds and sit babysitting them for however many weeks you feel like doing it, and there's clearly plenty of people who do have houses who don't even bother with that. If people are really fussed enough, anybody can technically get access if they know somebody who has a house or track down someone who does... the problem is being reliant on that other person to one, keep letting you use their garden, and two, not take the plants for themselves (assuming it's not someone you know well enough to trust).

I'd rather they let more people use the feature instead of arbitrarily locking it behind a very limited resource because of whatever 'value' that limitation adds, which I'm not convinced is extraordinary considering how many houses I see without gardens in their yards.

And I say this as someone with a house, an FC house, and two friends' houses that I can freely use to garden whenever I want. Gardening is annoying and no matter how many people have access to it, there's still gonna be plenty who say F that and go to the market board for their onions or whatever.

Why is it that every single time someone loses a house in this game he absolutely has to open a whiny thread about why "the system is bad and you should feel bad"?

I started doing my crossbreeding gardening at my FC's garden plots, when the previous gardener burned out. It's great; I've been amassing a giant stack of Thavnairian onions in the chest for FC members, and next I'm going to move on to trying for blood peppers.

Then I managed to get a personal house. I have (one) crossbreeding-capable garden plot there, too... which I let a friend who wanted to try gardening out use, because I'm already using the FC ones. And then my eternal bond partner's personal house is across the street from the FC house, and there's garden plots there too, which I used to use prior to taking over the FC garden plots...

It's just a touch silly the way folks played musical plots there, all solely because of how gardening works. I use my EB partner's garden, then take over the FC gardens, then get a house and let someone else use that because they don't have a garden...

I think each apartment should come with an instanced rooftop or patio garden (accessible from the lobby and housing menu, so you don't even need to add extra doors to existing apartments), where you could put maybe 4 outdoor furnishings (including a max of one garden patch). That way you can do crossbreeding and experiment with gardening, but you can't do it in mass quantities. It won't unbalance the market that way, but it still opens up options where folks aren't shut out of gardening by virtue of there being no housing available.

And by instancing the patio/rooftop gardens individually, you avoid the nasty memory considerations that the wards impose due to the open yards.

Considering what Wildstar or BDO are able to do with housing, SE choice is bad. But it's not as if it was a new. Many people say the housing is broken since they open to individual.
Apartments are instanced yes, but they have a limit of 400 rooms I think, so it's still limited and 400 is not enough still. A compromise had to be made somewhere. No one cares about apartments(they are dead on Spriggan), people want their own house.
