Can't use Minions

I used the minions I got prior in the game. They are in my minion tab. Now for some reason I cannot right click and "use" new drops. Got some from questlines, some from drops in dungeons, I cannot use any. Any ideas as to what would be the issue?

Do you already have those minions in your Minion Log? The game might be recongising that they're already 'used' and thus disables using another copy of the minion item accordingly.

You can check what minions you have 'used' (which is also where you select them to summon them or put into your hotbar) by accessing the Minions Log under the main menu (mounts are accessed the same way through the Mounts Log).

On top of what Enkidoh suggested, I just wanna make sure you're not selecting that from a retainer or something right?
It's gotta be in your inventory!

Might've thought that, but the Onion Knight is flagged Unique. You can't roll for it or acquire duplicates. Unless, maybe player stashed one in retainer/saddlebag, got another one and used that, and now stuck with one that can't be used or, evidently, discarded.

Oh. Different idea. Trying to use while /sitting down, or maybe otherwise emoting? I remember the inconvenience of being sat, but having to stand if I wanted to check my WT journal or hunt marks or the like.

There's the option to 'add to saddlebag', so that means the chocobo saddlebag is currently open. I believe when you're doing that you can't use items?

Make sure you're not in a retainer, saddlebag, have your glamour plates open, etc.... just in case, make sure only your inventory is open when you try to use it.

Yes, that saddlebag option is 100% accurate, and thus the most likely explanation in this scenario. Heed Doozer's advice!

Was indeed the saddlebag. I've been playing around with macros so had a bunch of shit opening together. Didn't think even think about that in this context. Much appreciated.

Yea had already considered the duplicate as the first reason, and checked. Thinking maybe auphinaud came from two quests or something. But wasn't the issue.
