As someone who has way more than the amount needed. The comms are meaningless, most people avoid the comm requirement by doing the "craft mentor" since its less time consuming.
If you say so.
I dont want to be rude, but... equating the overall state of the game (and its community) with one bad interaction you had (even though it was in an unexpected place and shouldnt have happend) seems incredibly shortsighted to me... so someone was rude - doesnt mean everyone is and sure as heck doesnt mean that the game itself is bad or not enjoyable.
I do appreciate the feedback from everyone. I should rethink maybe renewing or not and perhaps my first thought was a bit premature.
I'm just unsure if I want to keep supporting a game that allows not only the power to be mean mentors but also their ability to ban people for x amount of time for just simply disagreeing with how a mentor acted. That to me is just the ultimate punch in the proverbial face.
No, of course not and I am not "holding the game responsible for the actions of these 2 or 3 mentors" it's the simple fact that it happened and it put a bad taste on the game for me. As in, if this is the kind of things I am going to expect to happen in the future, then I don't feel the need to keep playing.I dont want to be rude, but... equating the overall state of the game (and its community) with one bad interaction you had (even though it was in an unexpected place and shouldnt have happend) seems incredibly shortsighted to me... so someone was rude - doesnt mean everyone is and sure as heck doesnt mean that the game itself is bad or not enjoyable.
Also, people can kick you out of the dungeon without reason, or maybe there will be a reason, but they couldn't even say it in fear of reports. If something like that made you unsubscribe from the game, maybe you shouldn't play games like this, where people can be negative all the time, so maybe this game isn't for you.I do appreciate the feedback from everyone. FFXIV community is not Novice Network alone.
As for meeting toxic people, that's not FFXIV, that's litteraly everywhere in the world on all kind of game, jobs, situations...
But in general, FFXIV community is good, helpful, understanding.
If you feel they were in the wrong, take action and report them. Mentors aren't actively monitored as that would require entirely too many staff and manhours....I do appreciate the feedback from everyone. I should rethink maybe renewing or not and perhaps my first thought was a bit premature.

To be honest, if that *almost* made you quit, then you wouldn't go very far elsewhere, either. No, of course not and I am not "holding the game responsible for the actions of these 2 or 3 mentors" it's the simple fact that it happened and it put a bad taste on the game for me. I suggest that you leave the Novice Network because it's an absolute joke. It's pretty much a rookie mistake to even rely on it. There will be good people, be it from your Free Company, Linkshells or even the forums who are more willing to help you with your questions.
Communities will always have bad apples wherever you go, so be wary if things like these happen again.
I appreciate the feedback but I do think you're missing the point. I am not oblivious to how the world works I know there are bad people out there. The best example I can give is this:To be honest, if that *almost* made you quit, then you wouldn't go very far elsewhere, either.

Just think of giving your money to a business for a service then one day you call customer service for help only to be met with insults by more than one person who indirectly represent that business and then ban your phone number for a half hour.
Would you think twice before giving your money to that business again?
I don't buy it. Troll thread. If it actually is true just leave the novice network or report the insulting person with your chat log.
