Unable to open any options or exit, dcs constantly

So i've recently resubbed to the game a few days ago, but been unable to play more than 5m each time i tried, because i cannot open any options nor can i exit the game normally (have to exit the process manually in my task manager), until it crashes to desktop with no error message, log or anything like that.
I can see other people run around and everything, so it's not lagging nor freezing. The main time i actually crash the game is when i teleport to another zone or city (anything with a loading screen).

I have checked my antivirus and firewall and everything is as it should (every other game i tried works perfectly fine).
I've also ruled out server specifics, since i have other charatcers on other worlds and the same thing happens there.

I am not using the steam version, btw.

To clarify your issue, what exactly is preventing you from opening options or exiting the game? Does it not respond to any inputs?

Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Hello there.

That is what i don't know. I can open the ESC menu and everything is present (like system config etc.). I click on a menu item (any of them) and nothing happens. No menu beyond the initial first one. Nothing. Nada. Not even the sound of a menu getting opened is playing. And the game just crashes when zoning. No errors. No logs. Nothing.

However, i did the only thing i had yet tested and just uninstall everything and reinstalled it again. So far it seems to run fine again, but i'll get back to you if it happens again. I think something happened when i just updated from last patch to latest that made it happen.

edit: This is one of the main reasons the game NEEDS a "Check files" and/or "Repair files" option, instead of having to reinstall a entire game when something unfortunate like this happens...

Could you try doing a clean boot? Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.
