FFXIV won't detect controller inputs on PC most of the time. Part 2.

I use an 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ with the 8BitDo Wireless Adapter.

My PC detects the controller, and I can use it in the start menu and other games perfectly fine.

FFXIV however also detects the controller but no input seems to work from it the vast majority of the time. Occasionally I boot up the game and it works, but most of the time no input is doing anything. Gamepad is enabled, and it even shows up on the dropdown menu, but no dice.

Sometimes it works if I change the Steam Input Per Game setting to Forced On. Then it'll work.... once. Then the next time I play, it doesn't work again, even though the setting is still on. I have to launch the game, see it doesn't work, change to Forced Off, close the game, launch it again, change back to Forced On, close the game, launch it again. Worse now is the fact that even this isn't working half of the time.

The controller is in X-Input mode, and all other games recognize it as an X-Input controller. I wasn't having any issues with it really until 5.2's release.

Is there anything I can do?

The original thread was closed because I had thought I resolved the issue when I reinstalled Windows and my controller was working again. But I'm already back to having this same issue with the game not detecting my controller but everything else is.

Edit: Now it's working again.
This is very inconsistent.
I feel very embarrassed for opening this thread again. But at the same time I doubt it won't come back again. But its inconsistency is making it very hard to troubleshoot.

There's an option somewhere that has your gamepad work when the game isn't the active window. I think it's in System Config > Gamepad.

Windows 10 update loves taking over as the active window without giving any indication.

I can try that, but I alt tab and leave the game open a lot so I'm worried i might bump something and go off flying while im not looking at the game.
Anyway, I also have the setting turned on to reduce the game's framerate when its not the active window (and it does so to a considerable degree, like down to 15 FPS) but my framerate isn't dropped like that when testing the controller, so I'm not so sure this is the issue anyway.

Before open the steam, connect the controller via bluetooth and open the ds4windows. After that, open the Steam (ADM Mode) and run the FFXIV. Unfortunately $quare not care about the players issues.

But I'm not using a PS4 controller... this is an actual Xinput controller, like an Xbox controller. Also what's ADM Mode?

Also I don't have bluetooth. I have the 8BitDo Wireless adapter, which is what the PC reads as an X-Input controller, and allows me to use 8BitDo controllers, Nintendo controllers, and Playstation controllers on it. Which I guess is bluetoothy? But it's not recognized as an actual bluetooth adapter.

I do have an actual bluetooth adapter, but if so much as my knee pokes up between it and my controller it loses connection. I bought several and they all do the same thing :T. So I don't use it.
