    To be honest?
Yes the game got easier expansion by expansion. Skill rotations and skill hotbar got heavily reduced (over time). Best example, healers DPS kit.
New dungeons are hard at release/first few times but get easier as everyone increases their current gear or remember certain mechanic patterns. Even the newest end dungeon doesnt require much brain. Primal extremes such like Hades or Ruby weapon dont require to much coordination, once you understand every "puzzle", it's all about doing and thinking in advance.

However, I have tanked all dungeon content and pull as big as possible in every single dungeon I have done in my 440 gear since the start of shadowbringers. I have only started upgrading my tank into augmented deepshadow in the past day, because I queue for copied factory and put some metal music on in the background and zone out.

The dungeon I was referring to was Mt. Gulg. I pulled all the way to the first boss, after the second boss I pulled every single group from the second boss to the third boss.
Then you were outgearing it by a bit more than 30 ilevels: Mt. Gulg has a minimum ilevel of i390 and an ilevel sync of i420. You had about 120% the Vit and 115% the Def and M.Def of a tank in i390 gear. This along with similar increases in dps allowed you to pull 2 packs of trash monsters and then burn them down in 3/4 the time. The ease you have with the dungeon is pretty much wholly due to your gears ability to mitigate the effects of your mistakes.

When I did Mt. Gulg at the start of shadowbringers, I pulled the exact same size. When I leveled each of my tanks, I pulled the exact same size (in leveled gear - before 80). You seem to be over here trying to act like these dungeons are actually hard. Lol. Yeah right. They aren't. If anyone actually thinks that any of the normal dungeons in the game are hard, they are kidding themselves. Aurum Vale is only considered annoying, because people don't know how to pull, and stand in front of moving packs of adds. Players are who make it annoying, not hard, just annoying due to players.

Anyway. I took this as a challenge. I queued specifically for Mt. Gulg in my old augmented scaevan (oh please, are you going to tell me because it's augmented, that's too good?) i397. I put on the shoes of the average DF tank, who didn't upgrade their gear throughout ShB. Spent 15 minutes looking for a healer, did every pull as I did before. Cleared. got a commendation. Normal dungeons are extremely easy right now, as I said before

Now, to an "expert" dungeon. The new one, Anamnesis Anyder. Since you said it was so hard at i440 I had deleted a couple of my old ronkan gear, so I just put back on a couple pieces of augmented scaevan to lower my ilvl a bit (to take off the newly upgraded deepshadow pieces). I got it as low as I could to still queue. Cleared it with 71 minutes left on the clock. No issues, I was also eating several mechanics, and had about 3 or 4 vuln stacks up o nthe first boss - not on purpose this is actually like the third time I've ever even done that dungeon. So, I will make a correction here now. Not just "normal dungeons are easy, ALL dungeons are easy. We actually only had 1 dps for half the first big Mt. Gulg pull, thought I'd just add that.

2 dungeons and queue times are why this reply is so late.

I need to actually get some friends, I have none, but this would be a fun challenge to play minimum Ilvl and see exactly just how "hard" these dungeons are when it's a forced low ilvl environment. The point is. these were authentic duty finder experiences, where the average player could find themselves in. I was continuing to play the role of the poorly geared tank.

OMFG I love you! That game was literally my obsession for 10 years, but had to move on a little while after it went into Super-Ultra-Mega Maintenance Mode. Best MMO times ever, miss it and the friends I made there back in the day so much (unfortunately we all wanted to play different games when we left AO and we lost touch).

They are keeping story/leveling content easy to not obstruct people who want to see a mainline FF story, because in modern gaming culture making roadblocks and harsh skill checks will lose this playerbase instead of forcing them to improve. Savages, Extremes and Ultimates still remain as a challenging optional side content.

I suck as a tank. I dont know my cooldowns, i dont remember to use them. You will never see me que for content on tank. Last summer after i finished 5.0 on BLM i decided to level DRK as my next class to 80. Did the whole thing via fates, challenge log, and trusts(again, im not forcing my bad tanking onto someone else). The first time i ran Holminster Switch on DRK i was level 71, and wearing most of a set of unaugmented scaeven(ilvl in the high 380s or 390s). I literally fell asleep during the final boss, and woke up 10ish minutes later to see that the NPCs i brought along finished the fight without me hitting any more buttons. They were looking at me to see if i was gonna open the chest(or possibly time out). I hit the loot, left, and went to bed. At least some of this game is easy.

Quick fix: go look for harder game? I am sure there is some out there. With playerbase who think more like you. Win/win for all.

You know what I don't think I ever thought of this, when it came to trusts. I guess they can actually have a use. I wouldn't mind starting a boss fight, tabbing out, or getting up to go get a drink or something. Can you afk an entire dungeon or do they expect you to actually move a little like real dungeons?

BUT I play this game for glamour not the challenge. I don't even do savage, and I haven't even cleared this most recent extreme, I did all the other ones, but the new Rimworld DLC came out and stuff... and I haven't found the time to learn the fight... and I'm just like "Well, I didn't clear it the first or second week. I'm never clearing this.. oh well!".

I haven't played swtor since then went full greedy f2p lootbox crazy but they don't have a gear sync that I remember. In current content instances you had to have the correct comp( 1 tank, 1 heal, 2 dps kind of thing) to complete it and I highly doubt they have gone away from that. And just like FFXIV if you unsnyc an instance that's not current expansion it's super easy to solo most content.

For someone like me that doesn't have a lot of time to spend in the game, I'd say the difficulty is alright. I personally find the game very easy at times, and even Savage is easy this tier minus e8s, but that difficulty is on pair with the amount of time you have to dedicate to those encounters. People with more time can study and memorize things in a better way, so for those really hardcore players or those with more time to spend in the game, then yes, I think it's too easy, and they should have more options to entertain themselves with challenging content. But at the same time I feel like anyone with enough time to be world's first on fresh savage content will eventually find any piece of content too easy.

When it comes to dungeon though, yes, I think those should be way more difficult, because we have 80 levels now and if you don't know how to play your job at this point... well, I feel like you should be punished in some way for it. But that also creates the issue that dungeon rewards are very lackluster in this game, so a really difficult one wouldn't be worth doing.
I just wish I could some actual challenging content for a party of 4 that isn't another reskin of Palace of the Dead.
