Can you avoid glamouring gear for just 1 job?

If I have 2 jobs that use the same gear but I want to glamour the gear for just 1 job but not the other, is that possible?

If you have different glamour-plates you can bind one plate to each job, so when you change your job - for example from DRK to PLD - your glamour will change with your job (only if you are in a city/safezone where you can apply your glamour plate, of course). But in your case it won't work that way as you don't have two glamour plates and actually want to dispel the glamour. So no, unless you get a second set of that armor to put it into your glamour dresser.

If the glamour you want to use is relic gear, you can do that and the glamour won't display when the other job equips it.

More generally, you can put gear in the dresser, add it to a plate, then take it out again and keep using it without affecting the plate. You'll lose materia and some other data on it, though, so read the warning prompts.

You can do this, but you need to make sure the gear you don't want glamoured, your current gear, doesn't have anything on it worth keeping, like materia or a signature.

To start, place the gear you want in the glamour dresser. Be advised any personalization on the gear, beside dyes will be removed. No worries, you'll be removing the gear soon. Now, make a glamour plate using that gear. Once you have the plate set up save it and remove the gear from the dresser. You are able to adjust the dyes later.

With this you can then make another plate with the desired glamour and use both as you want. Just remember a glamour's level has to be equal to or lower than the actual item being glamoured.

I tested this before fully writing this and can confirm it worked for me. I can also confirm that you do not lose the HQ of the item you place into the dresser and them remove, only its customizations, barring the dyes.

I hope this help you some.
